“Friendly staff”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

The staff at the hotel are lovely, very friendly and committed to making your stay pleasant. When we arrived we were the last to check in as we'd been on the pleasure beach for the day. Our first impressions as we drew up were disappointing as the outside of the building needs painting, the wood around the windows is peeling giving the building a scruffy appearance, and the building is grey which feels depressing. When we went in the entrance is much more appealing and we met a lovely receptionist who was very busy serving the bar and reception but was cheerful and helpful. Parking is first come first served so be aware of this otherwise you are looking for a parking space and will pay a minimum of 7.00 for 24hrs. My daughter and her partners room was on the second floor and spacious and pleasant although they had a bulge in their ceiling with a hole in it by the window but this didn't cause any problems. The room that i and my partner had was on the third floor and quite cramped and dingy it also had a strange smell to it but as the price for the night was reasonable at 50 pound for room and breakfast we thought no need to complain as we wouldn't be in it long. The bed was comfortable but had a blanket and throw cover/eiderdown on which is not to our personal taste but served its purpose. The room was very hot and even with the window open there was no air so it felt stuffy and uncomfortable a fan would of been pleasant just to ease the stuffiness but again we were only there for a night so this wasn't a problem. After a fab night out arrived back in the pouring rain to be met by a friendly helpful night porter which was very pleasant as very nice to see a friendly face when you come in. During the night we had to use the bathroom a couple of times and found that over the toilet and the sink the roof was leaking so had a very damp bathroom this is probably where the strange smell of the room came from. We did report it in the morning so this problem should now be sorted. Breakfast was lovely served by very friendly, helpful but busy staff who were the optimum of Northern hospitality. The décor of the bar and dining room was very nice and made the rooms seem quite airy and light. We enjoyed our stay as the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly and deserve to be praised to the highest. The staff at this hotel work hard but stay friendly and cheerful.

Room Tip: Rooms at the top seem to be stuffier and smaller.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your recent review on your stay with us at The Parisienne Hotel. I am so pleased you had a nice time with us and enjoyed the service provided by our staff.
We know the outside of the restaurant windows need painting, and actually we are doing it next week starting Monday, so the outside appearance should be much better.
I look forward to be able to welcome you back again in the future.

Kind regards,

Howard.G.Crump MIH

There were 6 in our party staying 2 nights for a girls weekend (loosely phrased as most of us are in our 40's) We were all happy with our rooms, delighted with the quality of the meals, amazed by the value of our stay but there was more .... the staff are the key to this hotels success and they deserve a massive pat on the back.

All staff we encountered would do anything to help guests and were cracking down to earth people. The lady who served our breakfasts was a typical example where nothing was too much trouble, also the receptionist who helped us with an issue with a taxi. Without doubt though, the star of our trip was Trevor and I'd like to give him a big thumbs up and thank him for his fantastic service, his great humour and for putting up with us into the early hours. Trevor, you are a superstar and I hope to see you again when we visit next time!

Room Tip: Rooms are large and spacious but many guests commented that bathrooms were tiny. It was absolutely...

We have just returned from a weeks stay here had a good time lot's of laughs. I appreciate the hotel is undergoing changes and upgrades some of which I have discussed with Howard I know some guests will have some complaints but staff and management are in the process of dealing with this and they do take guests views on board. Having had our 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' I would say The Parisienne could follow their example as there was more to choose from but all in all it was a nice stay look forward to coming back but coming prepared with my toolbox and water wings. (That was a joke Howard)

Stayed at the Parisienne Hotel from 12/07/13 till 15/07/13. had a sea view room which was excellent views of the Irish sea. But it was the staff at this Hotel I found extremely helpful, from room service, reception, waitresses in the dinning room all concerned were very helpful indeed. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms at the front would recommend.

Stayed at this hotel for one night there was five of us in total. We arrived late and had missed dinner after been stuck in a traffic jam for hours. Even though dinner had finished at 7.30 the staff served us our dinner in the restaurant which was very good of them considering it was well after eight when we sat down. The meal was good and you got good portions.

The rooms were basic but clean some upgrading is required but its nothing major. The hotel is in a good location and you can go into tiffanys hotel for the evening shows. It was very windy the night we stayed and there was some very loud banging outside at the back of the hotel possibly something loose banging in the wind which stopped us from sleeping but we asked the night man if we could move rooms and he moved us no problem and the new room was nice and quiet.

If your looking for a nice hotel with clean basic rooms in a good location with friendly staff this ticks all the boxes.

Must admit that the hotel is not the newest one around with hard pressed lifts serviceing the upper floors. As with all old buildings there are some problems with plumbing and especially so after heavy rainfall.

What makes this hotel shine out is the really caring service my friends and I received from all the staff there. When a problem occurred with waiters absent from the resaurant ,for example, other members of the team stepped in when advised of guests waiting. The security achieved by having night porters who really knew their stuff was re-assuring and was demonstrated during my stay.
Entertainment took place in the downstairs lounge where seating had been refurbished since my last visit. Elvis was in the building and a young man called Aaron Levi sang and hosted the Thursday evening session I attended. Already planning for the 2014 NPC Pensioner Parliament and certainly this hotel will, again, be my first choice of accommodation.

Were there any drawbacks? Those lifts would mean anyone with mobility problems (knackerd knees!) would be best asking for a lower floor room,

Room Tip: Ground floor if you have mobility problems best. Level stair-free entrance to rear of hotel
