It was unfortunate that I should spend three days in Blackpool on business during a heatwave, so felt the lack of airconditioning in the hotel. I had a south-facing room: when I went into it the heat hit me. However, as I was on the third floor I had no qualms about leaving the window permanently open, so this reduced the temperature somewhat.
The lack of aircon was my only gripe. The rooms were basic but clean and adequately furnished, and efficiently serviced. Noise (usually a bugbear) was mininmal - I slept well.
But the biggest selling point of this hotel is the food. The dining room is extremely well run, with the waiting staff not only serving efficiently but doing so with a friendly air that comes of recognising each of the guests. The dinner menus offer a balanced choice of main courses and desserts; the food is well-presented, quickly served, and is hot when you get it.
Outstanding value for money, and that is without the opportunity to sample the spa and swimming pool.More
