Spent a whole weekend at this hotel at the end of September. Rooms were reasonably sized and spotlessly clean. Cleaners came every morning with a fresh change of towels and to clean the room.
At breakfast there was plenty of choice of self service cereals, fruit juices, yoghurt and fresh fruit. There is also a hot breakfast menu with full breakfasts, eggs cooked to order and even kippers, which I didn't try. Plenty of toast and hot drinks are on offer and you can always ask for more. A full breakfast course does fill you up and you're not left feeling hungry.
Dinner was a 3 course meal with a menu that changed daily so we didn't have the same thing on the menu twice during our stay. There are also kids and vegetarian menus. Food portions were well sized and didn't leave you hungry although some of the heavier desserts could bag you up!
Restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and chatty, especially the manager James who was always chatting to the kids and their families.
There is a small spa facility with a jacuzzi, steam room and pool. The pool is only 3ft deep so isn't the best for a proper swimming session but it is good for relaxing. Because it was autumn the outdoor pool was closed.
There is no WiFi at the hotel but Uncle Tom's Cabin next door has free WiFi, just a pity that the pub itself is a dump!
We didn't sample the evening entertainment but we had a couple of drinks at the bar and prices are comparable to pub prices.
The hotel is a couple of miles from the town centre but the tram stop is directly across the road and takes about 10 minutes to reach the town centre.
Overall I would say this was a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff and in a good location to get a decent nights sleep but not be too far from the action.

Stayed at the Doric for a long weekend with my husband and 2 children. We arrived on Friday afternoon and our room was ready for us - the room was very nicely decorated and very clean with a lovely sea view (which we did pay extra for). We were able to park around the corner from the hotel and kept our car there for the full weekend as we used the tram during our stay as there is a stop directly across from the hotel. We ate in the hotel for both breakfast and evening meal and found that there was ample selection and enjoyed all of our meals. My children used the swimming pool whilst I was able to relax in the jacuzzi and watch them and again they really enjoyed this. On the Sunday evening there was a children's entertainer and my kids thoroughly enjoyed this and was great fun for all of the family to participate in. We found all members of staff very helpful and accommodating and we would no hesitate to return or recommend.

We pitched up for a birthday celebration, as a party of six and arrived in two cars. We were lucky enough to arrive at a time when parking was available at the front and this is free of charge, beware though because at busier times you will struggle to park close by, this is a continuing problem throughout Blackpool. Arrival at the Hotel was greeted by friendly and helpful staff, and as we were early for check in were told to leave the bags so that a porter would take them up for us when the room became available, all very good.

So we all hit Blackpool, had a ball came back and went straight to bed, when I woke up the next morning was greeted by a very clean but small room which was in fairness a bit dated, the bathroom requires refurbishment as this is equally dated, but to re-iterate I cannot complain about the cleanliness.

So to breakfast, here we go thinks I, the acid test. In a word Brilliant.
We had with us the Yorkshire toast monster, and the staff were more than happy to keep a constant supply coming across the table. All of the breakfast crew and the floor manager were excellent with the usual chat about where we were going etc, a good cure for a hangover

Only one criticism (and how petty is this) On Saturday morning I had a coffee in the room and a biscuit,, you cannot get a brew downstairs before 8 O'clock, when I returned to our room on that evening the room had been serviced, however the biscuits had not been replaced, the unfinished packets were left for us to finish, needless to say I didn't.

We did not use the Dining room other than for breakfast so I cannot comment on other meals, did have a nightcap in the bar on Saturday evening and overheard the hotel entertainment. On this note (not that there were any) I'm afraid to paraphrase certain panel members from a popular TV series "You just got 4 No's".

Would definitely stay here again, good friendly service top breakfast, just needs a bit of TLC in places.

Just had 2 nights at the Doric, reception staff were very good, I booked 1 double and 1 single room, the double was the only one they had and it was smoking, I knew this when I booked but it did smell of smoke and was very small, I went to reception and asked about another room, all they had were 2 singles the lady gave me the keys to have a look, 1 was at the front and the other at the back both were nice rooms, so we had 3 single rooms. Evening meal was between 5.30 and 7.30 the choice was good and the portions large, breakfast was also excellent. I used the pool and jacuzzi it wasn't spa standard but the water was a good temperature and the place was clean. This is the best small hotel in blackpool , very clean and good value for money. The staff are friendly and will do anything to help. It is a bit dated in places but if you want a modern boutique hotel with 5 stars then you need to pay a lot more money, I know because I have just spent one week in a 5 star design boutique hotel with a mitchlin starred chef , it was not worth the money we payed to stay there. I definatlely recommend this hotel for a stay in Blackpool.

Room Tip: A side room on the 4th floor has sea views.

Just returned from 4 day break at this hotel.Spotlessly clean rooms and en suite.Hotel has Pool Jacuzzi and steam room which we didn't use.Food plentiful and of a very high standard.Staff are a credit to the owners( waiting, bar and cleaning).Trams and bus stop directly outside hotel(Passes supplied by hotel as part of the deal) Only gripe temp in hotel bedrooms extremely warm due to heat from Pool area in the basement.Bar prices comparable with other hotels in area. Will certainly return in future.

Room Tip: Ask for room on top floor, these tended to be cooler

Just back from 4 night break at The. Doric. Very enjoyable stay. The staff very friendly and the dining room runs so smoothly.James runs the dining room and once you are allocated your table you keep it for all your meals during your stay and this makes a pleasant dining experience. . The food good and plenty of it. The bar staff make you feel welcome and most of the other people staying at the hotel go back again and again so this tells you something!
