“Lovely weekend with family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

We all thought the hotel was good value for money, - (had 2 nights which included breakfast & 3 course dinner) the food was all of a very good standard, nice choices and plentiful for all of us!
staff were cheerful and efficient - nothing too much trouble. We were pleasantly surprised that the interior was quite modern and not tacky, like alot of other hotels in the area. Would have liked a bit more background music, it was on but hardly audible.
Our rooms were spacious, very clean. the bathroom in our room was a bit jaded & looked in need of up-grading, but it was clean & functional which is all that mattered for the short time we were there. We had requested sea views, which was nice as the weather on the saturday was really sunny & quite warm for october! An added bonus was the indoor pool & jacuzzi. Okay, pool not of olympic size, but my son & I had a few swims and it was lovely and warm & extremely clean. The one thing that got us all down a bit, was how hot the hotel was! It was uncomfortably hot, alot of people were complaining - even older people who do feel the cold more than us "youngsters!"All in our party had to switch off room radiators - but then I suppose it wasn't mid winter & we may have appreciated the warmth then!
Location was a bit far out, but no problem as tram stop opposite & we did walk into the town once - but then got tram back!
Overall, I would definately reccommend this hotel & go back there if visiting Blackpool again, we had a lovely family weekend with lots of fun at the Pleasure Beach!

Room Tip: Probably best to ask for a room at the front or pay a bit extra for a sea view

Excellent hotel, in a good location. We stayed for a week, the staff and food were second to none. The room was very clean and spacious, very comfortable. Thanks to the very helpful receptionist Suzanne for her local knowledge and advice, it was appreciated. Will definately return.

Good north shore location, not in the centre.Well maintained(except for the creeky floorboards, but that's part of its charm) with excellent staff especially in the restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service excellent.Trams and buses stop right outside.Ask for a newly renovated room. Rose well above expectations.

Room Tip: Ask for a newly renovated one

Just home from a 4 day stay at The Doric Hotel, it was the first time we have been and will most definitely be back!
We were given a Family Junior Suite on the 1st floor, and it was modern, spacious and really comfortable. We had a huge bathroom with walk in shower, and another en suite at the other side of the room. My son had his own area with his own t.v. and loved it. The bedroom was serviced everyday to a very high standard. Only comment about the room was it was very warm even with no heating on and windows open. We were directly above the entertainment which could be heard in our room, but wasn't a major issue for us.
The reception staff were all very friendly and pleasant- Linda in particular was most helpful and enthusiastic.
The restaurant staff were great, really helpful and James made sure everyone was made to feel welcome. The service was excellent Dawn in particular was very efficient. The food was great, something for everyone. Sunday roast was ace.
Entertainment in the evening is geared towards the older generation but it was a welcome change from some places we have been.
The location is a bit out of Blackpool but its in a nice area out from the biz. And the tram stop is directly opposite the hotel, with regular trams and at a reasonable price the location is not a problem.
Forgot to mention the swimming pool, its not huge but is lovely, warm and the pool area was very clean and my son thought it was ace.
Overall can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Great for a family holiday, excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a sea view. If you want a quieter room do not stay on 1st floor.

Stayed here about four times now and I can't fault it. Only fault I can find is the location it's a little bit out of the way. I will defnitely be going back again next year. The food is really good and the staff are really friendly the bar is a little bit on the expensive side

Booked this hotel for a Mon-fri break with Blackpool Promotions. Situated on the North Promenade with a tram stop immediately ouside the front door. Bar/lounge area was lovely with plenty of space to sit and watch the illuminations. Bar offered reasonably priced snacks.

We paid extra for a sea view room but it was well worth it. Our double room was recently renovated and was more than big enough for us. Tea/coffee and biscuits were topped up daily and towels were changed daily too if you wanted. The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower and there were even toiletries thrown in.

Meals were served in the large dining room. Food was excellent, dinner was 5 courses while breakfast was part buffet, part waiter service.

Entertainment each night consisted of bingo followed by a cabaret type band in the main dining room or childrens entertainer in the other dining area.

The outdoor pool was obviously closed in Oct but there was a small indoor pool, jaccuzzi and steam room. Also a games room with darts, pool table and slot machines kept the children happy.

The staff were pleasnt and helpful and many of the guests we spoke to had holidayed here before or said they would return again.

We would not hesitate ro recommend this to friends and will hoilday here again soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently renovated room and pay the little extra for a sea view.

Just back from a 5 day break at this hotel, loved it we had requested a room suitable for the disabled ,got just what I wanted a walk in shower lots of handholds and the best beds we have ever had in any hotel, sky tv and a seaview. The staff were polite and friendly and the food choices were excellent. The bar/lounge area was well furnished with plenty of good seating and a glassed in area where you could sit with a drink and watch the world go by.

Room Tip: There was some evening noise from a childrens entertainment below us as we were on the 1st floor so...
