“Home Away from Home”
Reviewed June 16, 2010

My elderly parents and I stayed here twice in June. This was our first time in Blackpool, and the owners made sure we would want to return! The sea-view rooms were beautiful. Even the non-sea-view rooms looked out at Pleasure Beach roller coaster across the street. The rooms were comfortable and tidy. The breakfast was substantial with good balance of continental vs full English breakfast (or both!). The common sitting and bar area was conducive to meeting and chatting with other travelers. Clearly, the owners take pride in their place, staying up late to tend the bar, and even getting up early at 6 AM to see us off. We felt very welcome.

Having stayed in Blackpool for many years and traditionally in the North Pier area, I have in the past few visits been more akin to the Central and Southern areas and can honestly say that this hotel offers a perfect blend of value for money, curtious and reliable service, friendly, modern and appealing rooms as well as the added boon of a good sized car park for the guests.

We stayed in Easter 2009 and impressed with the attitude of the owner we decided we would return and pleased that we nabbed one of the last double rooms for this years (2010) easter weekend.

Ideally situated a stones throw from the entrance to the pleasure beach, the hotel is very clean and has recently seen some tasteful upgrading to some of the rooms, with new carpet, decor and tv/dvd/freeview installed. This coupled with a great host who has a great attitude and helpful manner when quizzed over the local area and the changes occuring it really cant be beaten for value for money.

100% recommended to anyone and a real credit to the town.

Breakfast as well, delightfully cooked with a good selection of cereals, juices and prompt service.

10/10 again. Thoroughly recommended.

Having stayed at this hotel numerous times as a child I was interested to go back 15 years later to see how the hotel has changed as it has been refurbished since that time. It is also under different management and has been for a number of years. Having just returned from our 4 day break in blackpool, all I can really say is WOW! Without a shadow of a doubt, the New Esplanade is the best sea-side hotel I have stayed at in the U.K. Paul was a fantastic host; always taking the time to talk to you and make sure everything is to your satisfaction no matter how busy he was at the time. He provided plenty of tips and information as to how to get the best from the activities we had lined up for each day which definately helped us to miss some of the queues. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout to give a warm, homely feel. The room was a good size with a sea view and digital TV with a DVD player which is handy for the kids. Unlike other hotels I have stayed in, there was a plentiful supply of complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the room which was refilled on a daily basis along with the room being refreshed daily by the New Esplanades' staff. The en-suite was of a good standard and was cleaned and re-supplied with towels etc each day. The dining room wasn't too cramped and the food was great; again Paul taking care to ensure you had what you wanted, including an endless supply of toast!!! The bar and TV lounge were great and open as long as you needed them; perfect for relaxing in after a late night around Blackpool! The hotel's secure parking was a definate plus-point knowing how difficult and expensive it can be to park in Blackpool. Paul was very accomodating in letting us leave our car there on the day we checked out so that we could enjoy the rest of the day without the hassle of having to park elsewhere. All-in-all a great hotel experience which only added to the great time we had in Blackpool and we will definately be going back again to The New Esplanade next year.

What a great hotel! Lovely owners, great location, secure car parking (and in Blackpool that is a massive bonus) and fab brekkie!! I have never been to a hotel with friendlier owners - they are homely however have a little touch of class attached. The location is superb - next door to the Pleasure Beach and there is a tram stop right opposite! Sea views too (even though you will pay only a fiver per room more). The breakfast was lovely - piping hot and plenty of it. For the cost you simply cannot beat this place. Recommend to anyone. Young. Old. In between!

We have just got back from a weekend break here, there were 23 of us in our party ranging from 61 to 6 and every age inbetween. This hotel is fantastic, Paul the host is one of the nicest people ive met in Blackpool, nothing is too much trouble, we had to alter our booking soooo many time but he didnt seem to mind. Even tho he had got to be up early he still allowed our party to stay in the bar until 12.30 on Saturday this was very kind of him. Last years host werent so accomadating!!!! The breakfasts were lovely, service was quick and our food was hot. The bar meals were huge well worth the money all cooked fresh to order. We would definately go back...... The rooms were spotless and serviced both days, the hotel was also very clean....Fantastic break Paul and the rest of your team thank you ...xxx The Atkiss party
