When making my booking the staff where excellent and made sure that I had a parking space reserved .
Check in was quick and straight up to our room. The room big enough for two people but there was little faults like curtains coming off the rails and the decorative pillows on the bed where badly stained, so we just removed them. The bedding itself was clean and of a good quality. The bathroom had a shower over the bath but the grouting was in need of re doing. If these little faults where debt with the room would have been perfect.
There is a bar downstairs but every time we used it we had to wait as there was no staff to serve you. There was no entertainment on during our stay but what they did have was a private party which meant that you had to use the upstairs bar so the games room etc was unavailable as you couldn't access it, and if you was a smoker that meant you running up and downstairs to go for a cigarette, just a little bit of a pain, We had planned to stay in on the Saturday eve and relax in our room, although we could hear the music from the party it wasn't that bad ,the most noise was when the party ended the constant flow of taxis and people where quiet noises which woke us up a couple of times. This probably effected us more as we had wanted a quiet full nights sleep away from the kids which where back at home.
The food well what can I say the breakfast is excellent and the service matches the food quality, well done ladies you really went that extra mile to make sure everyone's needs where catered for. It's a self serve system and you can get as much as you like and the staff run around constantly filling you up with fresh coffee and extra toast.
The rest of the hotel is clean to a high standard and even the outside the strand does stand out from the rest clean and tidy exterior which is welcoming!
Would I revisited The Strand, lets put aside the little faults in the room yes we would we would re visit with the children as its very child friendly.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review on tripadvisor, feedback is always important to us regardless of how critical it can be. We have taken your comments on board and you should see the improvements next time; clean cushions, re-grouting etc. but are pleased you were able to appreciate the more positive aspects of your stay and hope to see you again in the near future.

We stayed at the strand hotel for a week, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly,Arran,Jane,Francis,Karl and all the waitresses. The reciption was lovely, sold souvenirs at the reciption. The rooms were immaculately clean. Comfortable. Food was amazing and very quick catering. Sitting at breakfast and dinner there was a lovely sea view over the balcony. Entertainment was on every single night aswell as bingo, aswell as a bar being there aswell. Pool table, couches, arcade games in a separate room. Also there was a lift. All the staff work really hard in the hotel and it was a great stay everything was great but if any complaints. It would be that the lift was EXTREMELY slow it took about 5 minutes from Ground floor to third floor aswell as the sensor on the lights if you went to the toilet or in a shower the light would go on and off. But no complaints other than that.Great stay definitely reccomend the Strand Hotel in Blackpool

Room Tip: Definitely go for a sea view room but if you're only in your room for a shower and to sleep it wont really matter. But definitely sea view much nicer. On the last floor room 304. But if you want the lift from 3rd floor to Ground floor it takes a very long time!

Hi all, thank you for such a good review. You were all such a lovely family and we really enjoyed your company at hotel. We've fixed the sensor light in that particular bathroom so it stays on much longer now and we are sorry you found the lift to take so long, I just checked and it took under 30 seconds from the ground floor to the top but we appreciate how it can appear longer. Hope to see you next year, thanks again.

have just returned from a 4nght stay at the STRAND on a abacus coach holiday and found a real gem. in all the years staying in hotels home and abroad we have never ever come across such pleasant and welcoming staff. nothing was too much trouble for them any request.was met with a smile and a joke. and the food was brilliant especially the breakfasts which was buffet style so you could choose what ever you wanted and what a choice.. the only small criticism we had was the bathroom was a little cramped still we had a sea view room which we had;nt asked for so we were very happy. i would srongly recomend this hotel to anyone .

Room Tip: room 204 seaview

Hi Charles, thanks for such a great review on tripadvisor. What a good, fun crowd you all were from Abacus coaches - we should be thanking you all for making the week so enjoyable for the team. Unfortunately some bathrooms are rather limited on space but we trust you didn't let this overshadow your stay with us too much. I believe Abacus are now coming to the hotel 3 times in the 12 months so we very much hope to see you back soon. Thanks again and take care.

A lovely location and welcoming staff at the Strand Hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. Everyone at the Strand Hotel worked hard to make our visit a fun and memorable one. Nothing was too much trouble, did not want to leave.

a bit of a noisy stay, the doors had to be banged shut which was quite annoying. the bed was comfortable and clean but the room was classed as an executive suite......hmmmm not in my opinion! the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was adequate.

Hi thanks for the review, though a little exaggerated. After 8 years and thousands of guests at the hotel this is really the first time we've ever heard of this before. Perhaps because the weather was in the mid to high 20's this particular week and guests windows were open this could have caused the doors to bang? Try it at home - works every time! Surely it doesn't warrant reviewing a hotel for unless you were previously unaware of how it happens?

Executive suite....hmmm not in our opinion either! We don't proclaim to have suites - never have and never will.

Thanks for the remarks on the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness but we are surprised you only find the breakfast to be adequate - still, nothing wrong with a healthy appetite!
