Clean, comfortable hotel. The 3 course dinners and full breakfasts were fantastic and the service was excellent. Good value for money - I would definitely stay again. My only warning to new guests would be - get there early to get a parking spec!

I recently stayed at The Claremont for a weekend break, i have stayed at her sister hotels (Cliffs and Viking) a few times and was always impressed, i can say now i wasn't dissapointed, the room was a bit oldy worldy but clean and warm, the food was excellet, good choice and the entertainment was ok, i say ok because if you have a family and found it difficult to go out it was great, however we went out the second night, we used the spa twice and found it clean and very relaxing. Going to Keswick to the other sister hotel in february will let you know how it was.

The staff, food and entertainment at the Clairmont is superb, i cannot rate it highly enough but some of the rooms are getting very dated and new windows are needed.
If you can afford a sea view room have one as they are the best.
I go back year on year for short breaks and will continue to do so.

Service is very good.
We have been in about 4 rooms now some better than others.
location is ok.
I like the fact that you can bring schooters and wheelchairs in the hotel, and the car park is free.

Stayed here for half term with me, my sister, mam and 3 kids aged 3 and 1.
Check in was fine, rooms not bad. Not state of the art but comfortble, had a tv, kettle, hairdryer etc.
Our room was on the 2nd floor, but was tricky to get to with a pushchair as still had steps to go up and down even when using the lift

Food was delicious, best Ive ever had in a hotel. you have the same table and waiter for your stay, so theres no need to rush down at dinner times as you'll always have your table waiting.the waiter was excellent, all friendly and help full

Kids Base is ok for kids aged 5 to about 13, as they just stay down there you dont have to stay with them, they just come & go as they please, different activities for them to do, football shoot out, pool, laptops, drawing, arts & crafts sort of thing.

Has a kids disco on a night, for half an hour, keeps them entertained for a while, then a singer or other act normally follows.

Swimming pool is good, its lovely and warm, they provide towels

Staff all seemed nice, If your polite to them they'll be right with you which is common sense really, if someone spoke like dirt to me then I wouldnt do them any favours so be right with them and they'll be right with you.

We didnt take a car, but if you do then it will be parked up and you hand your keys in. Dont think you've got a chanceof getting it back out again until you leave as they are all blocked in. But they do tell you about this anyway.

Overall a good hotel for familys, its a bit out the way from the centre where the attractions are, but theres a bus/tram stop if your not into walking!

Ive stayed in the Claremont Hotel for the last 5 years, its a lovely hotel with great facilities but unfortunatly this year would have to be my worst! Hotel recommend leaving your car in their car park which their porters move if needed to! Leaving to come home i ask the porters to have my car out the car park to which we find its damaged! the manager said she would have an inverstigation and now am back in scotland they denied responsibility! i am left with a 300 quid car bill which i have to pay now! i would never recommend the claremont hotel again! And i will certainly be taking my business to another hotel in future!
