I stayed there for six nights with wife and two children aged 3 and 6. The room was of an average standard but faced the middle of the hotel so there was no view, it was also very hot. the towels were changed daily.
Breakfast was good but only had one fresh fruit on offer daily. The evening meal was of a fair to good standard if a little samey and had three courses. The options were one of two meat dishes, one fish or one vegetarian. The waiters and waitresses worked very hard. For the price paid you could not grumble.
Entertainment for kids was ok, although they were ready for bed by 9pm. i stayed up and watched a couple of comedians which were very good.
The main entertainment room smelt a bit fausty. Bar prices were very good, I did wake up with a sore head a couple of mornings.
The gym is small and very hot although all you need on a little break and the pool is great for the kids on those wet days in Blackpool.
Parking a nightmare although I did get a space in the rear carpark and left the car there for six days. Dont leave any valuables on display, the area behind the hotel does look a bit run down and you get a few winos hanging on the seafront near the Metropole just down the road.
Apart from that not a bad hotel, but could do with a little money spent on upgrading. If you get a sea view would be that little better.

Stayed there on Saturday evening, booked through last minute .com.
After checking in i asked about parking to be informed by a rude receptionist if you cant park at the front you will have to find somewere else to park on the street!. After 45 mins finding alternative parking (on a street about 1/2 mile away), we finanlly got our keys and went to the room. It was spacious although very dated with damp patches on the ceiling. Bedding was clean although i really did expect better, after my partner talking me into staying, i can honestly say i expected better. Beware also the late night disco that blares music out till the early hours, luckiy we were only there for one night. I thought the last chance for it to shine would be the full "lancashire" english breakfast.........it was awful, and i left it all, the staff in there were rude and very unproffesional......it seemed if you didnt tip you were ignored!!!! certainly wont be returning. I expected this from a cheap B&B £15 a night but certainly not from an establishment like this.

we got a really good deal, £74 pppn for dbb. the food was very good, breakfast in particular.
entertainment was fun, bingo, singer/comedian each night. bar prices reasonable.
room had a sea view but was quite small.

overall for a "blackpool" hotel this was really good, and a we will definately be returing here.

This hotel is a joke. It is like going back into the dark ages. The restaurant is dark...probably so you cant see your food. The staff are rude and unhelpful. The parking is a nightmare!!!!! Do not stay here. If so be prepared to be disapointed.

When my friend booked this hotel we were told there was ample parking so when we arrived we were annoyed to find the very small car park absolutely jammed full, there was a contractors hoist parked in the car park taking up at least 6 spaces, why on earth the management didnt request that the contractors remove their hoist from site till monday morning is unbelievable.
When we went inside, one of our friends stayed outside to guard the cars
(as when we had driven past ten minutes earlier there was a council tow truck poised to remove any illegally parked cars) we were told there was an overspill car park round the corner, this in fact is round the corner across a mini roundabout and up a side street and this too was jammed full !!!

The head porter who has no customer service skils whatsoever, and was in charge of moving clients cars up to accommodate arriving vehicles was very rude, and unprofessional, he informed us two of the cars that were taking up about 4 spaces had not left their keys so he couldn't move them.
We were concerned about where to park, however he kept muttering he didnt need this stress and if we were lucky the clients who's cars they were, might come back later...I think he felt if you can't get on the car park well tough!
We remonstrated with the reception staff and the day manageress came outside and with some cooperation from another guest between us we managed to squeeze our two cars in and another man got his car in too albeit very tight, and when we were due to leave I noticed someone had forced a keg passed the back of my vehicle and transferred the buildings exterior paint onto my car,I have not even bothered to complain as they have damage disclaimer notices posted up and if you do come here to stay and when you see how this establishment is run you will understand why.

The whole place is in need of major refurbishment the rooms are very 80's, very small, dark and hot. ,everything looks tatty and in need of a complete makeover.
In my friends room which resembled the black hole of calcutta the ceiling had been patched up with oddments of anaglypta. The bathroom was extremley small and looked like it had been fitted by an amateur, there was no window and no extractor fan either,if there was it didn't work.

We had booked bed and breakfast but decided we would have a meal in the restaurant before going out.We were told by the reception staff we could pay the restaurant and just go along and book a table,we only wanted a main meal and were told yes that was fine.
We went to book but were told to come back in half an hour as they were not yet open,so we went to get a drink from the bar which is quite basic and unwelcoming with filthy windows.
The public areas too are disgusting, the wallpaper in the seating area in the sun lounge is quite literally grey with dirt as is the upholstery on the furniture throughout the place.
When we went back to the restaurant after 40 minutes we were then told we couldnt just have a main meal and if we wanted to eat in there we would be expected to pay for 3 courses wether we ate them or not, so of course we declined and went across the road to The Best Western where we were welcomed into their restaurant and served a lovely dinner with a smile. What a contrast in staff attitude, cleanliness and service to where we were staying.

The next morning we went down to breakfast and were shown to our table.
I am so glad that we were discouraged from taking our evening meal there the previous evening. The "dining room" is like something from the Adams Family home, every inch of the walls and the ceiling are dark black brown gothic style wood, every ledge by our table was covered in dust, it was very stuffy, and the carpet is like something from the 60's never mind the 80's,I was expecting Lurch to appear and say "you rang"!! Surely if the hotel inspectors saw this decor they would condemn it as a fire hazard
The cooked breakfast was poor quality and cold and my simple request to have my fried egg served fried both sides was met by the comment when served "they're all precooked he's given you the best one there",I couldnt believe there isn't any willingness by this establishment to consider a simple request its so laughable in this day an age.

And finally when we were leaving, the only lift in the place, which had been tempremental to begin with had broken down and I was left on the second floor with my case and bags, however a very kind housekeeping porter offered to take them downstairs for me and this is the only semblance of hotel hospitality that is worth mentioning here...Oh and the sheets were clean!

If you have seen the photos of this hotel on the website please bear in mind they may have been taken a very long time ago and looks can be deceiving. Needless to say we will never stay here again nor would we be comfortable in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Just had a weekend at the Claremont.Rooms clean food just about ok but the place is a rabbit warren of corridors with lots of stairs. Not suitable if your a pensioner or you have a disability.Saturday night, three people in the disco."Rockin."Needs money spending on it,certain rooms have that "musky" smell.

This hotel has been around for a while and it showed !! the reception staff were barely adequate, the reception areas tired and with no air conditioning the bar area resembled a sauna. The food came close but didnt quite make the grade. With a little care it could have been excellent but the hotel let its self down by no real quality control. We suffered from brown lettuce/chipped cups/tough braised steak to name but a few and the waiter tried really really hard to overcome all of this and was faultless through out. If you want a bit of nostalgia and are happy to accept second best then this is the hotel for you
