We recently went to the Stuart Hotel with National Holidays. It was our first visit there and we enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent, service was impeccable and most of all the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was priceless. We will definately return in the future.

We stayed in this hotel for a short summer break during August. On the plus side the bedding was clean and fresh. However I found the general cleanliness of the rest of the room and other public areas to be pretty poor. The banisters along the stairs were grey and grubby and looked like they had not been cleaned in sometime. My bathroom had a carpet which smelled quite strongly of urine and as the bathroom did not have an extractor fan or window it was quite oppressive. The cups and glasses in the room were not clean and the glass still had someone else's toothpaste in the bottom. The owners of the hotel have obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing some of the downstairs public areas and buying waterfalls and decorative stonework for the front of the hotel, but why you would do this before replacing torn seating, worn carpets, broken blinds, pealing wallpaper and stained valances in the bedrooms, is beyond me.

The breakfast was OK and the evening meal was passable, although it did all taste as if it has been bought in and reheated rather than home-cooked. I was really surprised when I ordered apple pie for pudding and was brought a 'Mr Kipplings' style individual pie on a plate.

The bar area was clean and tidy. We were told by the owners that there would be entertainment that evening, however despite sitting and waiting no entertainment turned up. Owners didn't apologise.

With so much choice in Blackpool and other owners putting in more effort, I would not stay here again

We came to this hotel with National Holidays, and of all the hotels for Blackpool in their broacher we think
this one is the best, it is also at the quiet end just after the Pleasure Beach.
Our room was clean and tidy, and the bedding and towels was exceptionally clean for a good nights sleep. The floorboards did creak though as you walked around the room.
The food was very good, and extremely efficient with the serving. The staff was very friendly
and did every thing they could to make your holiday.
Beer was a fair price, and the entertainment by Tony Rydal was very professional.
Whether we come to Blackpool by coach or car, this hotel will be our number one choice

The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. However our room was small and very cramped. Window did not close properly and was drafty, also double glazed unit was clouded so was not possible to see out. Carpets rather grubby in bedroom although bed linen etc was clean. Food was rather basic and dinner was not enjoyable. Breakfast came with 6 slices of toast but only one pat of butter. Impression was that meals were a bit "mean". Meal times are strict, 8.30am for breakfast and 5.30pm of dinner, not all that convenient and actually not worth going back for. We had bad weather, so the one hour walk to the town was not enjoyable ! I'm guessing that this hotel is possibly better than some in Blackpool but it is really 2 star. It does have a lift, just a pity the rooms are not worth going up to ! Typical Blackpool hotel of the 50's but with nice staff and what could easily be described as microwaved food, at least that is what dinner tasted like. I feel bad about offing criticism as the staff were all very pleasant, but the hotel failed to impress. Anyone with mobility issues would need to use taxi to get to town because the walk to the centre is a long long way. To conclude, a 2 star hotel, poor main course at dinner and cramped outdated rooms, but the staff are very nice. Basic, ok for a night but don't expect to much other than a clean bed.

Room Tip: First floor front facing are shown in brochure and are only rooms you would probably wish to use.
