Stayed here with a coach tour with myself my partner and his 16year old daughter . When we booked we were told we would be in separate rooms though found out they do have family rooms . Rooms small but clean en suite consists of a toilet, shower and basin but again small . While there we had an evening meal and breakfast . Evening meal was 3 courses we all had the soup which was good with the bread , 2nd course myself and my partner had the Turkey which as someone who worked in catering i know was a frozen sliced in gravy( very bland) potato croquette which didnt go veg was served in a container but no extra gravy . No sauces were offered to accompany this. my partners daughter had salad which looked fine even though she said it didnt taste right , she then had a pear dessert which was pears cream ice cream and wafer bit rubbish when the other alternatives were ice cream or a saucer of cheese and biscuits . Very dissapointed with this. Reception staff very helpful and always had a smile no matter how busy they were . Breakfast was a whole lot better than the evening course . We were asked if we wanted sauces with our Full english we all agreed but they never materialised . Other hotels who we have stayed with have always had sachets or bottles on the tables.
The hotel is situated up the North Beach and as it is on the front i am sure you get great views if you request the rooms at the front . the fire doors do bang shut rather than close gently so again this needs to look at . Looking at the notice board this hotel does a lot of Entertainment weekends so they really need to invest in bigger rooms rather than more rooms , bath sheets rather than little bath towels , and the extra touches like being asked if everything is ok with your meals . Would i stay here again only for one night and i wouldnt stay for evening meal .
