Having stayed in the Viking Hotel on many occasions, I have always found the staff and rooms excellent with the food and entertainment first class. On reading the last review I cannot believe that any adult could write a review against this hotel making allegations about the food being pre-cooked and left under a heat lamp. The food is only self service on a hot food bar at breakfast times with waitress service for dinner. The staff are not overworked and the service to your table is exceptional, even your water is regularly topped up without you having to ask. You say that the cabaret was typical of Blackpool, if this is your opinion of Blackpool why go to this cabaret show. The entertainment is the best in Blackpool with Buddy Lee and his show. As for your comment about the hotel's drink prices, it is not unusual for hotel drink prices to be more expensive than the cheap pubs and bars in town, and the Viking's prices are relative to other similar hotels in the area and not particularly inflated. You mention you became suspicious when greeted in the room by the ECOLI outbreak notice, which you will find are displayed in all hotels as a warning to all visitors on holiday in the area and is not just the Viking. The hotel guests watching the cabaret on Saturday were of mixed ages with old and young enjoying the fun show with tears of joy and laughter. There wasn't a dry seat in the house! I hope the Viking take up your allegation accusing them of falsifying comments and your complaint to the Foods Standards Agency. This hotel is regularly full throughout the year with repeat and loyal customers, which is testament to the excellent service, food and entertainment it has on offer. The hotel is certainly not a dump and is regularly being improved/refurbished to maintain good standards. Are you sure you stayed at this hotel and not a Blackpool hotel which has 1020 bad reviews? I happily recommend the Viking Hotel as one of the best hotels to stay in Blackpool for an all round great stay. The hotel has been in Blackpool for years and due to its popularity it continues to still draw and maintain customers. If you are still unhappy there is a McDonalds up the road from the Viking which does a Happy Meal,
