We stayed here for two nights. It was excellent, staff were very friendly and the entertainment was excellent and dancers were very professional. Better than some of television shows. The comedians can be a bit blue so don't go in if you don't like that. We thought they were excellent. We used the lift sometimes even although it was small. The stairs are not steep and have a break between them to have a rest if needed. Yes the rooms are on the small side but they have a wardrobe, dressing unit, bedside cabinet and bed. what more do you want. We are both slim and there was plenty of space for us to move about and dress. Same applied to the ensuite. Yes be careful the water is very hot when it comes straight out the tap, do not use that on its own. We enjoyed the food very much. I would have thought enough choice to suit everyone. It is not wheelchair friendly but, this should all be looked into before you book. It is a good walk into the town but, if you are not fit the trams and the buses run past all the time and you can get a one day or more passes and you can get on and off them as you please. The handsome young man at the door of Talk of the Coast showing you to your seats was very helpful, we messed him about a couple of times and he was still charming and smiling and we had a laugh with him. This is a saga but, I hope it helps some people.

Down side. Drinks a bit pricey.

This hotel bucks the trend in Blackpool, whereas a lot of other hotels are looking really scruffy, The Viking seems to have the winning formula. It is like a quirky tardis inside with lots of corridors. It is not suitable for disabled people because of all the stairs. The staff are all very friendly, and the food is superb. The breakfast is self service, and the cooked breakfast is great. The evening dinner is also excellant, with a great choice of meals. The entertainment in the Talk of the Coast is relly good witha good compare and at least 2 good acts. The rooms are comfortable, as are the beds.

Been here many times and always enjoy it. The food and entertainment is brilliant! The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Lovely entertainment room but the only downside is you have to go downstairs or you can use the lift. Buddy Lee is fantastic and creates a brilliant atmosphere.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are quieter

just back from a 5 nights stay at the viking hotel

rooms

nice and clear
but getting to your room could be a hassle if you are not good on your legs the lift is very old fashion and it take a long time to get moving(especial on busy time)

food
top drawer cant say a bad word about the food or the people in the restaurant

location
on the south side of Blackpool good if you want near the pleasure beach and south pier its a 3 mile walk to the north pier or you can get a tram or a bus (witch is free if you a OAP from England)

day trip

witch are free to mecca bingo and fleetwood

entertainment

talk of the coast is a nice nice they have bingo monday and Wednesday
but they have a habit to change the artist and not letting you know before hand or letting you know atoll
buddy lee it the big hitter and could be good fun but they book there artist on a 2 year roll so go once and you have seem them all

Room Tip: 102 is a nice room

My partner and I stayed here last June (drop down box would not go that far back) on an all inclusive week, my parents had been here the year before on the same all inclusive week and said how good it was, and we was not disappointed. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the entertainment is excellent, the food is excellent and of plenty of choice. Our room was a a very good size, and clean the only small thing was that the toilet was abit unstable, we didn't report it as it wasn't a major issue but I'm sure if we had of it would of been sorted. Also in a good location, 5 mins walk from the pleasure beach. .Overall a great hotel, I would definitely return and would recommend to others.

The last time we stopped at the Viking it needed a few improvements, i am glad to say this has happened.Food excellent, loved the self service at breakfast time.Evening meal superb, and the staff brilliant in the dining room.In fact the reception staff are an excellent first impression, this is what you need people who can converse and have empty with other people not has in a lot of cases using foreign staff, well done! In the dining room the meeters and greeters who were both ladies had a great sense of humour and efficient.Cleaning staff again cant fault extremely courteous and finally the bar staff all helping to make an excellent hotel. Forgot, last but not least, entertainment top class and you don't have to leave the hotel what more can you ask for .We will be back!
