Good show Was a bit busy, The group Oxygen are very talented. All the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome,The prices at the bar are very expensive, we met someone who said they went here on friday 21st september, bought a round which cost £9, went back in on the saturday bought the same round and was charged £12! When they asked why the price difference they were told it was because it's the scottish weekend. I know its a free show but if they reduced thier bar prices then I think they would get more people spending money. Other than that it was a very enjoyable night

We booked this hotel on my elderly Father in law recommendation as he had old fond memories and the reviews on Trip Advisor were good, well what a let down , the food was awfull think 1970 school meals , cold and congealed how anyone thinks it was good is beyond me, I did overhear several complaints from regulars so may be we went on a bad night.
The rooms are small and shabby but clean if only the bed wasnt so hard it would have been just ok, the entertainment was again ok Buddy lee was clearly tired the second night and it was a bit of a let down, not enough lifts to all floors for the frail and yes the drinks are overpriced but only like they are in London, still Blackpool is no London ! .

Room Tip: ground floor for the elderly are quieter.

As usual I once again I enjoyed my visit to a Choice hotel. The Viking just has a slight edge on the other two hotels in Blacpool because of the evening entertainment. The food and accomodation in all three hotels is good to very good.

Room Tip: If yuo book soon enough there is no single supliment

I would just like to say that I recently stayed at the viking hotel in blackpool. The food and entertainment was excellent but the bar prices were out and out It was £3.40 for a pint of Carlsberg lager and £3.70 for carlsberg Export. These prices for the north of england are really out and out EXTORTIONATE. The average price is at least in clubs is about £2.60 a pint so why does the viking have to charge so much. But! like I said the entertainment and food plus the staff was excellent.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Viking Hotel there were a group of us celebrating my husband's birthday Friday to Sunday. The bathroom and room were a bit dated but were clean. There was a really offensive smell on the corridor of the 3rd floor where we were situated which was like a drainage type smell. The food was really good and could find no fault at all. The entertainment was also really good and we had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The hotel was full of mixed age groups and it was a great place for a group of friends to celebrate a birthday.

My wife and I have just returned from The Viking 21/09/2012, after a five nights stay. We really enjoyed the visit. The Cabaret, in our view was very good, especially Buddy Lee, and also Terry Cotton. We were on the first floor which was ideal. The room was clean and tidy although a little small but this didn't really bother us. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. All the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and helpeful. The meals, as far as we were concerned were good, with plenty of choice for dinner. The breakfast was superb, eat as much as you want. The Hotel is situated on the Promenade very close to the tram and bus stops, and has a large car park at the front and side of the hotel. This is the first time we have been to the Viking and we will certainly be visiting again.

Room Tip: If you are disabled or similar try and get a ground or mfirst floor bedroom.

Just back from a weekend September break in Blackpool at the Viking. Room was on the 4th floor and unfortunately the lift ended at the 3rd floor !!! The room itself was badly in need of decoration but was kept spotlessly clean every day. Shower wasn't very good and could do with being replaced. The food was excellent with plenty of variety and the staff were very attentive. The cabaret wasn't bad at all, especially Buddy Lee. On the Saturday night we went to a new Cabaret place called Viva. What a great night we had. Certainly worth going to see. Sunday night we stayed in the Viking. Unfortunately no Buddy Lee. The show finished at 11.00 pm. and without much warning the bar closed at the same time. In fact the barman was pulling down the shutters as it was announced. Would certainly go back to this hotel but would definitely want a lower floor room.

Room Tip: rooms on floors 1-3
