“Great new Indian cafe in town!”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a new Indian cafe on the site previously run as Stefano's. We visited on Saturday lunchtime for the second time, taking family with us. I had daal chicken with naan bread, which was spicy and very tasty. DH has lamb kharai and rice which he said was the best lamb he's had for a long time. One of us had chicken tikka with salad and mint sauce on a naan bread (delicious) and the fourth member of our group had chicken tikka burger and fries. The burger was fine but probably the weakest dish.
Portions are decent and the flavours are outstanding. Everything tastes really fresh and feels like homestyle Indian cooking.

The menu is on a big board, with plenty of starters/light dishes, some tandoori specials, a couple of burgers and then the daily curry specials, which are excellent. On Saturday as well as the daal chicken & the lamb kharai, as above, there was a vegetable kharai and there are plenty of veggie choices on the starters/light dishes.

It isn't licensed but they do coffees and teas as well as soft drinks. With a soft drink each, it came to just over £22.

They are open Monday - Saturday daytime and (I think) later on Friday & Saturday evenings. They also do takeout.

Well worth a try!
