We have been to this hotel a few times and we cannot fault it at all, great choice of food friendly staff, very clean, plenty of entertainment and situated on the promenade. We cannot wait until ou next visit to the Lyndene.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The family room was tired and very stifling with a window in a small concave, where it couldn't be seen when any of our party of four were in bed, meaning no natural light! Cleanliness was average (and that's being kind!) but worst of all the service in the restaurant was appalling. On every occassion we ate in the connaught restaurant there were items missing from our table for 8 but then asking for those items became stressful in itself, the serving staff were very abrupt and just plain rude at times. The food was edible (again being a bit too kind) but the breakfast set up was painful. The areas set up for watching entertainment are poorly thought out and residents of the hotel get no priority whatsoever and combining that with all the 'older' residents bagging their seat early us later diners suffer the consequences. This place needs a complete overhaul and to get back some of the energy and enthusiasm it obviously once had (reading the other reviews makes it sound like a completely different place), only then would I consider a return, but at this moment I would actively recommend that noone stays here. I didn't want to be completely negative but I honestly have found it difficult to find a truly redeeming feature.

We cannot understand how people like yourself can criticise our beautiful and very popular hotel, yet never once came to the management to air any grievance.
We are always very suspicious of reviews in this nature. It is a shame that we could not please you, but it is also a shame that you took two rooms that our regular guests would of had, who we had to be refused because we were fully booked.

The Lyndene is a nice hotel situated between central and south pier. They have caberet acts on at night and there are two different rooms to choose from.

There is a choice of evening meals and the food is excellent, all the staff are pleasent and helpful.

You may have trouble with your rooms as the room numbers don't always follow on from one another (eg rooms 3,4,5,then 57,58 59) The rooms are very nice, clean and tidy and well laid out, and there is plenty of wardrobe space etc. The bathrooms are fitted with shower toilet and wash basin, they are small but but not so small you bang your elbows etc when you are trying to clean your teeth.

Overall a good affordable hotel on the sea front and quiet when the entertainment is finished.

First impression after we checked in was the size of the room, having stayed in several Blackpool Hotels it was very small, and the en-suit was even smaller. I can honestly say that this was the only fault, everything else apart from a few minor details was excellent. The restaurant service and choice of food was exceptional (special thanks to our waiter Michael). Great entertainment (arrive early to get a good seat), friendly staff (cant do enough for you), bar prices (could be better) great location (although patio could do with a covered area for us second class citizen smokers). Overall i would recommened this hotel as one of the top five in Blackpool Looking forward to returning

When I visited Blackpool in the past with my children we would normally go self catering as being up late and having to get up early was not a good combination to prevent grumpy children. After a break of a few years we were making a return trip with my grandson(6) but two of our normal places have gone(Grand Hotel Holiday Flats and Pontins Holiday Camp) so I tried Haven for a caravan and was quoted £405.00 for a two night stay. This being too expensive I contacted the Lyndene, my mother's favourite Hotel which we have stayed in frequently in the past and know well, who gave us a much cheaper quote of £252.00 for two nights including breakfast and dinner. (3adults and 1 child). My mother and sister also came along and we were allocated a family room for 3 people and a triple room.
Both rooms were spacious and well decorated and spotlessly clean. Ample towels were supplied daily and the family room we had was a bonus as due to its positioning near the bar and lounge and with only one access from inside my grandson could safely sleep without a need for someone to be with him all the time.
The entertainment each evening was first class for the adults in our party, and in fact my grandson really enjoyed the comedian on the Saturday, and kept us amused from shortly after 7.00pm until after midnight. The bar prices are reasonable and other than to take my grandson out as it was not all for him, there was no need to venture out in the evening. There was also entertainment in the afternoon but we were out all day and did not see it.
The food was fine with a reasonable choice for both breakfast and dinner.
The only disappointment was the Games Room which had a small pool table and 4 machines, with nothing for children
We had no cause for complaint and did not speak to the owner or manager but I would via this review make a couple of suggestions which I think would improve the hotel for FAMILIES with young children.
1) Have a later breakfast option and perhaps change to a buffet style.
2)Have a suitable children's play room.
3)Have some children's entertainment in the evening

As I have said, these are suggestions, not complaints and we will be back either way.

Lyndene is perfectly located on the promenade within walking distance of all amenities or with the bus and tram stops just outside. The hotel offers both afternoon and evening entertainment in 2 seperate areas, both of which are very comfortable, one with sea views, there are very talented organists, bingo and artists. 3 bars serve drinks and snacks that you can have either in the lounges or at tables outside if the weather is good. The food in the dining room was excellent, plenty of choice, well cooked and the staff were brilliant ( a particular thank you to John who looked after us very well).
Our room was all we wished with a sea view bay window we could sit and watch the activity of the busy promenade, it was spotlessly clean had TV, a Safe, plenty of hanging space, the bathroom was small but adaquate and the shower was powerful and as hot as anyone would wish I also liked the added touch of toiletries and a heated towel rail. There is quite a lot of free parking offered at the front and side of the hotel and taxis are usually standing opposite so you don't have to wait of one.
All in all this was the nicest hotel we have stayed, friendly staff and a warm welcome, we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Sea view bay windows - we were on the second floor and it was very quiet.

Stayed at the Lyndene for 4 nights , myself and my partner. Had a wonderful time. Loved the hotel and atmosphere. Entertainment very good. Bar open til late. Very clean and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Just one critism our room was very small but didnt spend much time in there anyway so not moaning! Stayed in a lot of other hotels in Blackpool but they fell short on entertainment with most closing bar quite early. Not so at The Lyndene very lively hotel. Also varied age group which was nice.
All in all a great hotel!
