My mother in law has just had a short break at this hotel, sub standard room.Net curtain was tattered & curtains that were hung did not close. She did not have any heating and was told it would be on in 30 minutes needless to say it didn't come on and they then gave her a small electric fire which went nowhere near heating the room- hardly good treatment of an 84year old!! Even the enginner told her to move her bed into the hall as it was warmer!!. Needless to say none of the family or others that were on this trip will be booking into this hotel again or the Coach trip firm.

I had a fantastic time at the president. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and went out off there way to sort out any problems. Entertainment in the hotel was fantastic. The food in the hotel restaurant was basic but good. The hotel isn't that far from the all of the tourist attractions (Blackpool Tower, madam taussade, the dungeons etc) it's only a couple off stops on the tram. I am certainly going to stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at this hotel over the past few years and i have noticed a deteriation of this hotel . The public function rooms are clean and the staff were very helpful but the bedrooms are in a bad state and these need to be updated the central heating was a hit and miss affair and the hotel of the year 2004 sign needs to be taken down as it wouldn't be voted 2012 hotel of the year this year the room we stayed in had only one mirror and the hair dryer was at the other end of the room so if you wanted to use the hair dryer you had to unplug the tv and move the trailing extention so you could use it. The main function room was not very good with low ceilings and no windows and was very claustrophobic it also had pillars which obstucted the view of the stage. The food wasn't too bad though. Oh i forgot the lift is pretty diabolical as you have to wait ages for it

Room Tip: don't bother find another hotel

I was attending an army vets reunion on the 26th to the 29th oct 2012 , my 1 st impressions were , its a bit outdated , after viewing my room which was en suite but basic , the TV did not work , the mngt blamed adverse weather ,, strange that surrounding venues all worked , even the TV in the hotels restaurant bar was working ??people could not go out on sunday as it was freezing , so stayed in rooms looking at walls . next was the main evening event in the lounge saturday night where we were served with a coldish soup , a main meal which was awful consisted of 3 roast pots / veg/ and chicken which needed a hammer and chisel to get through , the main restaurant in the hotel produced 1st class food on the same night ?? as they did every night , so why did we , the vets , get treated like this ?? the lift to the floors has of a mind of its own , antiquated ?? when waiting in the lounge foyer area on Sunday morning , I had to request the heating to be put on as it was freezing , they told me a pilot light must have blown out ,,,yea right , must think im stupid as the heating was on upstairs and if the wind can get to a boiler , haha ,, think what the rest of the place is like ,, B/S excuses , penny pinching at the customers expense , the bar prices are a bit up , a vodka was 3.50 ,ok not bad for hotels , but , a splash of cola ,,,,, A SPLASH was 75p ?? .

Good points , the entertainment was good , the bar staff were pleasant , the main restaurant meals were excellent , but the best point in , im not going back ever again .

AFTER READING SOME OF THE REVEIWS ON various sites we were concerned about our booking but from the moment we walked into the nicely presented reception with a friendly face behind the desk our worries started to flow away/ Our family room was lovely and clean and comfortable The restaurant must be the best in blackpool for decor, food, service and views. It was superb. All round family entertainment was enjoyed by all our family. The staff could not do enough for you and went out of the way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. we will definatley be going back and all you people who write these horrible comments its about time you got a life and got your hand in your pocket and paid 5 star prices. This is a 2 star and worth every penny Thank you New President for a nice break and you will see us soon

4 day visit to Blackpool to see the "Ulluminations" with a coach party, which was my first mistake.
Hotel looks tired, has 4 floors served by one elevator which carries 3 people, resulting in long waits. Meals are available for a period of 75 minutes - Breakfast and Dinner, despite the Hotel not being full there were more guests than tables in the restaurant. Meals are self service, again wait in a line. Food quality - average. My room was a double for single occupancy I found it very cramped, two people would be on top of each other.
My first experiance of a coach tour so it was cheap, hence my comment you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Front room have sea view
