“cab executive travel coach tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

We have just returned from a coach tour in Blackpool which stopped at the New President Hotel. The hotel was excellent. The room we were allocated had a sea view and was very comfortable and clean. We could not find any dust or dirt in the room whatsoever, we even ran our fingers along skirting boards and dado-rails, across top of the wardrobe and pictures etc. We also did this on the corridors. No dust or dirt was left on out fingers. The food was excellent and there was more than enough of it. All the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble to them. The staff were always cheerful and smartly dressed. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in Blackpool.

Having booked and paid for this break by phone 3 weeks before going and receiving comfirmation that l had a twin room when we arrived they gave us a double room, which really should have been a single room, no room at all to move about. Having asked for a room change, l was told there were no twin rooms available. According to the condition of hire ' On booking your holiday, you are entering into a legally binding cantract. All accommodation is offered subject to the availabilty at the time of receipt of the deposit being paid and the taffiff applicable according to season'. As l paid for this when a booked it , l should have been given a twin room. After waiting for a hour and a lot of arguments and me treating to take legal action and demanding my money back there and then,we were given a chose of twin rooms. The first room had a sea view and you could see the prom if you knelt on the bed that was pushed up against the wall. By this time my husband and l were fed up so we took this room. The room was small, with cracked floor in to bathroom and the bathroom window was broken. The window sills were dirty and the room smelt damp, especially at night sleeping against a wall. There was a note by the telephone telling us to go to reception in the event of an emergency as the direct phone line was not working, Very handy when you are on the 4th floor. The lift was a laugh, only held 2 people with luggage or 3 without. Alway had to wait a long time as restaurant was on first floor and every one trying to use lift at same time. The service in the restaurant was very poor. One morning we had to wait 15 minutes for a table, when we got our table l counted 11 tables that were empty but not cleared. The staff were so slow, any slower and they would had stopped. Not a great choice of food, but was passable. Plates often wet when you picked them up. Did not see any choice for vegetarians. Entertainment average, only did 2 spots of 30 minutes, spent too much time doing silly quizzes and playing bingo. In the advert that was in the paper, they advertised 'All inclusive cabaret weekends', this turn out to be a free bar from 5 - 7 every evening by payaing and extra £10pppn. As the meal times were 5.30 to 6.45pm each evening, this was not much of an offer.
All in all not that good value for money. If you wanted a remote control for the TV or a safety mat for the bath/shower, you had to pay a deposit. The bath was very dangerous to get in and out off as there was nothing to hold on to that felt safe, either glass half screen or towel rail, I was not the only one not happy with the service as when we booked in there were at least two other couples/families complaining. The only good thing about this hotel is the bus and tram stops right outside the door, at least you can get away easily.

Room Tip: Don't bother

Have been overnight here on a weekend coach break. Being a seaside hotel wasnt expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. Decore was a bit dated but rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Shower room had been updated. Food very good and plentiful. Plenty of very polite and helpful staff. Would definately go again.

Good all rounder this hotel, my family and I have came back to this hotel for over 5 years. Entertainment every evening and the occasional afternoon - includes a game of bingo that all the family including the kids can join in.
Breakfast and Dinner is carvery style not to be confused with buffet style as the staff do plate the food up for you (usually choice of 3 - meat , fish or other) and you pick the extras for example fried bread, hash browns, beans, tomatoes, black pudding, scrambled egg or choice of veg and gravy for dinner. If you are not able to carry plate back to table or pick it the staff will get it for you, the dining room can be very busy at times and staff work hard to keep it a smooth service.
Some rooms more spacious than others, bathrooms a good size. I have been allocated a sea view room as have my family without paying a supplement but if you don't want to take the chance £5 per person per night is charged.
This hotel is ideal for using public transport as there is a bus stop and trams stops for both directions right outside and across the road. The new trams are fab!!
My only gripe was this room had no mirror at a height where i could sit to dry hair, make up other rooms i have been in had dressing table mirrors but when i requested a mirror i got one.
All the staff are pleasant and well dressed in their uniforms.

Room Tip: rooms at the corner of building in particular 312 have 2 large windows and because its the corner th...

we arrive on friday 17th august a family of 7 (kids parents etc) i had booked a family room, double and a single for my mum but on booking was given a double at no extra charge apart from single occupancy - on arrival the rooms given was 2 x double and a family for 3 and was told by the arrogant older receptionist there had been an error and the double which my mum had would or can sleep one of my children - absolutely not then to find the first room 216 was filthy and damp smelling and the shower door loose they changed me to room 209 of which my dog has better conditions the bathroom was very tired with broken tiles, there was no shower head so you need to fill the bath if needed i used the shower in my mums room (206) as i would not let my dog use our bath in that room, absolutely filthy and to top it off i am still awaiting a conversation with the owner as quoted by 'steph' the Duty manager - i want a refund of some sort!!! i have also got back home and got three bites on my arm which i am quessing could be flees from the filthy carpets and beds!!! lets see if i get a response from my official complaint form

Room Tip: Just dont risk going there even though some people say its lovely they obviously do not have standa...

Spent the weekend here-The outside looked tired and could do with a repaint, inside there was signs of wear and tear in the public areas as was in the room we were given. It gave all the signs of a tired old building. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and the food was of a very high standard. It is a shame has been allowed to deteriate

This wasn't the hotel we booked when we made our booking with Travelstyle so we were a bit unsure what to expect. However we needen't have worried our room was superb, large and well equipped with all that we needed it was clean and we had fresh towels every day bar one.
The food was amazing, great choices and quality ingredients.
All the staff were friendly and hard working and nothing was too much trouble. Dean often made us smile with his wind ups, it was a great atmosphere.
The entertainment was A1 especially Tickety Boo, however the tables in the cabaret room could do with a move round because not everyone could see the stage and sometimes it was difficult to get into your seat as they were too close to the next table.
Great holiday will definately be back (hopefully for the illuminations.
