When looking for a decent hotel, for a weekend away Tiffanys appeared to be the most classy and elegant place to be, however, in reality this was not the case.

As we entered the building a vile smell hit us straight away, it was a cross between an old musky building smell and that of a fish tank. The receptionist was very rude when sorting out the keys for the rooms, she did not even look at us or give us any information.

Once we entered our rooms the smell became much worse. Before we were even able to settle down for the night, we had to buy: anti-bacterial wipes, washing up liquid, febreze and some sponges to completely clean the rooms out. We also bought a new kettle as the kettle they provided was beyond cleaning; it was covered in grime. So after a long, journey we could not settle down and have a cup of tea straight away, we had to go out to buy cleaning products and a kettle.

There was holes in the walls, the blankets and pillows were dirty and smelt like someone had been sick over them and the blankets were also very damp. one of the beds was broken in the middle and was very creaky and uncomfortable.

On day 2 we went down for breakfast, we arrived about quater to to 10, the waiter was stalling us by the door, from where we were standing, food was still available but by the time the waiter led us to the table he told us they were no longer serving hot breakfast, they was plenty left as we saw some waiters take it back to the kitchen, they were not even prepared to put some on a plate for us, so we ended up eating cereals and cold toast.
All three of us had felt mislead as we read that breakfast was finishing at 10:30 am and so the information was inconsistant.

When we came back upstairs there was workmen carrying out plastering and DIY jobs by our rooms, we had no warning of this before hand.

On our last day at the hotel, the staff were once again very rude, when they spoke to us they did not even look at us. We came back from the weekend away feeling tired and dissapointed. Looking forward to going back to our own clean bedrooms. we have all decided that we will not be going to Tiffanys again.

I am writting this review as a warning to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. Do not go to Tiffanys, it is very disappointing. Despite the fancy decor at the front of the building and the posh restaurant (both in public view) behind the scenes Tiffanys is a dirty, smelly, rotten hut.

last november my sister, niece and myself(three eldery ladies)visited this hotel for a tinsel and turkey weekend. all started well with a lovely dinner and fabulous entertainment on the friday night. unfortunately my sister aged 88 became ill during the night with an upset stomach. on saturday morning i went to the reception desk to ask where the nearest chemist was so that i could get her something to help with the problem. the receptionist asked what the problem was and when i told her she said that there had been a "bug" in one of the other hotels and that i should go back to the room. we were told that we should stay in the room till someone could come and collect us and that we should then leave the hotel which we did around 3.00 when we could get a family member to drive from west yorkshire to pick us up. we were told that we should get some reinbursement in the form of another holiday. we have waited 7 months for tiffany's to contact us so today i called the owner who has been most unhelpful and is not prepared to look into the matter for us.

Me and my wife stayed at Tiffany's hotel for the week end of the 13th to the 16th June 08.
On arrival we thought reception looked good ( good start )
We went up to room not so good it smelt damp and fusty
and it was very small.
The shower was that small i had to force my way into it ,And i could not move to get a wash.or bend down.
It looked as the hotel was very short on staff as we had to wait a long time to be served
They boast that they are wheelchair friendly
but you can't get a wheelchair into the lift without collapsing it so you have to stand up in the lift ( if you can )

However The entertainment at night was very good

We booked a short break to blackpool with superbreaks.com. I do not advise anyone to book with that company as their staff are very rude over the phone and they got many parts of our boking wrong. first sending our tickets to the wrong adress then not including rail tickets which were already paid for, meaning its cost me an extra £150.
However Tiffany's hotel is the big pink hotel along the front and is very welcoming and accomadationg.

If you want some good old fashioned tacky fun, this is the place to go. we had great fun winning stupid prizes, feeling sick on all the upside down rides and seeing the great shows

good british fun
