We went to this chippy on Saturday the 7th June and were very disappointed with the service but mostly the food. We had to wait a good 15 minutes for the fish we ordered and my partner ordered a cheese quarter pounder with chips, what a joke. The burger was thin and burnt with bits of gristle in it and they had asked if we wanted salad on it....SALAD, that's a joke, it must of been 3 strands of limp iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato chopped in half, to accompany this culinary delight were about 8 chips. The fish was greasy and over cooked, it also looked like it had been cooked in dirty fat, all in all they would have to pay me to go back (also not that cheap). So dont be tempted, you will be disappointed!!

“One star is generous!!”

Came across this "chippy" after a day out at the Pleasure Beach. It's seafront location led me to believe that the quality of the fish would be of a good standard, how wrong I was!!
The place has more of the feel of a kebab shop and maybe they should go down this route as they certainly shouldn't bother with selling fish and chips!!
The chips were undercooked and looked very unappetising, the taste of them did nothing to improve this first impression. The fish looked ok but I was disgusted to see that as other pieces of fish were being prepared that it was frozen fish being used! This made the fish taste mushy and not the flaky, succulent fish I have become used to at other seafront establishments and most of it ended up in the bin.
We wouldn't have eaten any of it had it not been for the fact we were starving due to our friend forgetting the sausages for our BBQ!!

“Awful fish & chip shop with terrible customer service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

Me and my partner decided to pop out from our hotel to enjoy Blackpool fish and chips. We headed for Harry Ramsden or Pablos, quite a walk from our hotel but as it started to rain we approached Mr Chippy so decided to have fish and chips there instead .... very bad decision!!!!

There was absolutely no atmosphere to the place whatsoever. The Eastern European guy behind the counter gave us a very unwelcoming look. I placed my order for 2 portions of fish and chips, he rang up £11.00 on the till and didnt say a word. We sat down at a table and waited for our meal.

As we chose to eat in we expected the guy to bring our fish and chips over to us when it was ready, not so, he pointed to the meals which he had placed on the counter. I went over collected them
and brought them over to the table. They were not even served on a plate but takeaway cartons and we were given tiny plastic knives and forks.

If you wanted a sauce there was a charge of 20p per sachet. To be honest we were suprised that there wasnt a charge for the salt and vinegar!!!

We guess that this type of fish and chip shop are just interested in one off tourist trade but with so many businesses going under these days this could be their demise. People reading poor reviews of such establishments will stay away and go elsewhere. The management of the Mr Chippy organisation should see to it that the people they employ have customer service skills if they want to remain in business.

We would not recommend Mr Chippy in Blackpool at all, its the worst restaurant, if you can call it that, we have ever been to. We would never go there again. We wish we had continued on our way to Harry Ramsden or Pablos, and braved the wind and the rain.
