Me and my partner decided to pop out from our hotel to enjoy Blackpool fish and chips. We headed for Harry Ramsden or Pablos, quite a walk from our hotel but as it started to rain we approached Mr Chippy so decided to have fish and chips there instead .... very bad decision!!!!

There was absolutely no atmosphere to the place whatsoever. The Eastern European guy behind the counter gave us a very unwelcoming look. I placed my order for 2 portions of fish and chips, he rang up £11.00 on the till and didnt say a word. We sat down at a table and waited for our meal.

As we chose to eat in we expected the guy to bring our fish and chips over to us when it was ready, not so, he pointed to the meals which he had placed on the counter. I went over collected them
and brought them over to the table. They were not even served on a plate but takeaway cartons and we were given tiny plastic knives and forks.

If you wanted a sauce there was a charge of 20p per sachet. To be honest we were suprised that there wasnt a charge for the salt and vinegar!!!

We guess that this type of fish and chip shop are just interested in one off tourist trade but with so many businesses going under these days this could be their demise. People reading poor reviews of such establishments will stay away and go elsewhere. The management of the Mr Chippy organisation should see to it that the people they employ have customer service skills if they want to remain in business.

We would not recommend Mr Chippy in Blackpool at all, its the worst restaurant, if you can call it that, we have ever been to. We would never go there again. We wish we had continued on our way to Harry Ramsden or Pablos, and braved the wind and the rain.

To be fair the food is OK, but the dance music blasting out and the desire to take as many orders as possible without actually cooking those they already have is annoying.

The food is not cheap, 2 cheese burgers and chips set me back over £12, and when you ask for sauce I think a 20p charge for a tiny sachet is taking it a bit too far.

Bit disappointing that the traditional seaside resort of Blackpool and its traditional fish and chip shop was really just a burger joint with certificates galore and up to date for Halal meat but nothing for food hygiene on the walls.

Could do so much better but the tourist money is too easy for these guys, you can tell they don't really care, go if you are really hungry, find somewhere else if you can.

POOR FOOD. Staff were very rude. Swearing in front of children as customers left without cleaning their tables. Totally unacceptable.

You cannot go to Blackpool and not visit Mr Chippy, lovely resturant. Great Fish and Chips and perfect curry sauce! Prices are not too bad neither. Service with a smile too.
