“Fantastic”
Reviewed March 7, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Myself and my Husband stayed at the Sea Cote Apartments for a 3 night stay in March 2017. This is the second time and we would definitely return again ! Great Location, fantastic facilities and the cleanliness is 5 star. The owner Anne is very welcoming, helpful and second guesses everything you may need for a Self Catering stay. She is on call if needed (but we didn't as she explained everything so well, on our arrival) We stayed in Apartment 2 on the ground floor and there was everything you needed and more. It was very comfortable and extremely clean. Plenty of places to eat close by on the main St in Bispham and Shops and Supermarket if you don't want to travel far. Tram stop across the Rd to use if you want to visit local attractions or stroll along the Sea front to Cleveleys for more eateries and shops. An extremely lovely friendly place to stay ! Would definitely recommend and return. Couldn't fault anything apart from one day of bad weather.

Let me start by saying that this is not bad accomodation. If it had been truly dreadful, we would have walked out and got a chargeback on the credit card.

What's good about it ?

Well, its way up the North end, almost in Bispham, so there are no drunk revellers to disturb you. Its also opposite the Cavendish Rd tram stop, which is really handy and the bus stops close enough too. The building is generally quiet with no real noise getting through the walls.

What's not so good about it ?

It is not an apartment, its a bedsit, the cooker is in the bedroom. As such, we decided not to cook at all, as we did not want the bedding to smell of cooking - there is no extractor fan for the cooker.

The heating was on when we got there and Anne made a point of telling us lovely, toasty warm it was. Pretty much as soon as she had left (for the weekend), it went off. The bloke in the flat above came and knocked on our door on Easter Sunday asking if our rads were working (they weren't), so it wasn't just our room(s). He said he didn't want to call Anne again because he'd done it the day before and he was too scared to do it again.

Miraculously, on Monday morning as new people were checking in and Anne was there to welcome them and get the keys from us, guess what !! Yup, lovely and toasty warm. When I asked her if the heating was broken, she said that she had turned the thermostat down on Friday.

Its alright though because there is a wall heater and a fan heater in each room which work really well when you shovel £1 coins into the provided meter, which you'll need to, if you want to come out from under the 1970's duvet.

The room is tired, it needs dragging into this century - cheap, porcelain niknaks have no place in 2016.

The wallpaper opposite the bed is stained or dirty - its certainly noticeably discoloured.

There are hairs (not ours) in the drawers. My partner would not put her clothes in them for that reason. So either Anne believes it is acceptable to leave them there or she thinks she doesn't need to clean them properly.

Oh yes, shower pressure. Useless. A trickle. Plenty of hot water though, because its not being used to heat the place.

You'll need to take towels too. You may have a different point of view to mine, but I'd expect towels.

One toilet roll for 2 people for 3 nights ? Penny pinching.

One last thing and then I'm done, I promise !

The room you see in the photos is pretty much it. Its tiny. You're forever walking around things.

A lengthy review requires a lengthy response. Obviously Nick from Derby did not read the description. "Lounge/bedroom (with new double divan bed)/kitchen area and separate kitchenette. Separate shower room with toilet and washbasin. This apartment is suitable for up to 2 persons and is fully self-contained and equipped to meet all your requirements. Flat screen T.V. with Freeview and DVD player. Included in price all bedding (not towels), constant hot water and main lighting. There is a £1 coin meter to cover everything else. FREE WIFI."
There are also 6 photographs.
Nick "There is no extractor"
Owner One in shower room and 3 separate windows (lounge area, kitchenette and shower room) all can be opened at anytime.
Nick "Heating"
Owner All the apartments large and small are All Electric with a £1 coin meter to cover all the electric sockets, including heating and showers (see description). The small two small background radiators in the kitchenette and shower room are not on meter and are set for winter conditions on a thermostat. The reason the background heating comes on at the moment when people are leaving and arriving (loading and unloading) is the front doors facing the promenade are open for a considerable time and the temperature drops
Nick "Shovel £1 coins into meter"
Owner I always put £1 or £2 in meter to start my guests off and to give them an idea of how much they can expect from their £1 as everyone is different. Nick got £2 credit and when I emptied the meter on his departure there was only £4 in it! Not bad for a long week-end !
Nick "Cheap porcelain niknaks have no place in 2016"
Owner They have a place in my life as these are gifts of thank you from my regular guests.
Nick "Wallpaper stained"
Owner The apartment was recently redecorated and the discolourment was caused by condensation during their stay as all the windows were running and it was obvious that no windows had been opened for fresh air and ventilation during their stay.
Nick "Cleanliness"
Owner Each year my property is officially assessed for 3 Star Rating and each year has achieved that. No one is perfect. Why was nothing said the whole week-end??
Nick "One last thing and then I'm done, I promise"!
Owner Nick should have booked and paid for 5 Star self-catering accommodation or probably what he is used to a hotel with endless towels and toilet rolls.
I would ask future prospective guests to read my other reviews and if you want a larger apartment we can provide it but it would cost more which Nick didn't want to pay for.
After 25 years and 4 Blackpool Tourism Awards and 3 Star Rating you can't please everyone - but I always try.

My wife and I have just returned home after a wonderful stay in Flat 3 at Sea-Cote.
The flat has everything that two people would need with comfortable bed and full facilities.
The flats are in Bispham with tram and bus stop right across the road so going into Blackpool or anywhere up and down the coast is easy.
The area itself is just far enough from Blackpool town centre to give some peace and quiet at night but still has amazing illuminations across the road without having to go further if you didn't want to.
The Bispham and Clevelys restaurant round the corner does the most wonderful fresh Haddock all at good prices.
Added to this is free WI FI

Anne the proprietor is a lovely most welcoming host full of local information on tram and bus travel, nearby eating places and shops , also local places such as Clevelys and Fleetwood.
So helpful in fact that when we said we would like to buy some fish at Fleetwood she put it in her freezer with our two ice packs till our departure
I would thoroughly recommend these apartments for a most enjoyable stay in Blackpool.
