Always a bad sign when the guy checking you in says "Welcome to the Ritz" then doubles up laughing. Although we booked into Adam and Eve, we were moved across the road to York Street Hotel. The front door was unlocked (and remained so) and the hotel was damp throughout. The owner advised us to place out belongings on the bed as they would get wet on the floor. The shower/toilet combo was tiny, mouldy and didn't lock. The hotel is overrun by stag parties, and the owner said "the prisoners are in charge of these cells" then ran off, leaving us alone in the hallway. Meant to stay for three nights but left after one, and called environmental health on the way home. Worst hotel imaginable.

Avoid like the plague, after a weekend here, I think there's a chance I've caught the plague. Part of the ceiling fell down, the tiles fell off in the shower when I shut the door, the place looked and smelt like it hadn't seen a hoover in years, there was old food and rubbish strewn about the place. If this is all you can afford, you'd be better getting arrested and spending the night in the police station cells!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

What can i say about this hotel it as to be the worst place that i have ever stayed in.The B&B is very dirty and is in a bad state of repair.

I stayed at this B&B on Saturday 27th July 2013 you must see it to believe it. I was on a stag night with around 16 mates we could not believe it when we got told what room most of us had been put in i am sure it used to be the old dining room with approx 14 bunk beds in it!

It cost us £25.00 each for this and the room was filthy it smelt so bad and looked so dirty and tired we dare not even get into the beds i think that most of us just slept on the top of the beds fully clothed.

One of my mates fell out of the top bunk bed as it had no safety guard on it and what looks as though he may have broken his hand.

Their was not a wardrobe/draws or even a coat hanger in sight to use how can this be when you are renting a room to approx 14 people.

The shared bathroom is what i would describe the bathroom from hell so dirty and smelly you dare not jump into the shower i can not believe that this place is still open.

We also had what we thought was a double room booked as well this turned out to be a single room with bunk beds in it this room was so dirty and yet again no wardrobes or anything in it to put your clothes.

The lock on the door was so flimsy we had a wash hand basin in the room even the cold water dispensed hot water from it!

The B&B was so noisy we got very little sleep during our stay their..

To sum thus place up i would say it as to be the worst place i have ever stayed in, it,s not a budget hotel it's a filthy badly kept hovel the management seriously need to do some work in this B&B.

Please be ware if you stay here i strongly recommend that you give this place a wide birth!!

I will not be visiting this hovel again!!!! :(

Room Tip: Stay here at your peril!!!

This hotel as got to be the worst i have ever stayed in,from the outside it took the taxi driver a while to find it with the outside sign called the black diamond and a piece of paper in the window with Adam & eve wrote on,so we get to the room on first look it didn't look the best but not bad for budget hotel, then when your actually in the room you notice dirt on the floor, other peoples hair on the floor, chewing gum stuck to the beds, big mouldy yellow patch on the ceiling, sand on the bed covers when no ones been to the beach, the rooms had a sink which sometimes was cold water and then sometimes warm apart from that the room was basic & for a couple hours of sleep we got over it.and went out to enjoy the day sun then we came back to get ready for our night out the shared bathroom its self was unbelievable no lock on the door which people just walked in on you while in the shower, the shower didn't stay on its stand the floor was always condensed and wet,but we managed to get ready around that and get out.arriving back to the hotel after being out was the worse as soon as we was in our room people knocking on our door, trying the door handle, slamming doors, shouting, alarms going off,it was mayhem i couldn't wait for as soon as it was light to get up and go till then i get home & get diagnosed with hands foot & mouth from this grubby hole was defo a nights to remember for the wrong reasons!!

Room Tip: just dont go!

OK, yes this is a basic BUDGET hotel but my god people, moan much?

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four nights.
We were originally booked into York Street hotel but as we were checking in on the Tuesday after bank holiday weekend, our original double room wasn't ready, so we were given a triple room at this hotel for the same price. We were greeted by the owners son, a lovely friendly smiling man. He wouldn't take any money until we had seen the room. And we were offered towels.

We were right above reception and could see onto the street from our room (which meant we could see the car, which made us feel a little better, you can't be too careful right?). We were shown our room which had a CLEAN double and a single bed, a bedside table and a sink. Although there is no TV, the hotel does offer free WIFI and has the code available in every room, when we eventually went into the hotel after busy days then we'd just cwtch up in bed and watch TV on the mobile. If your here for a beer fuelled nights then you don't need TV anyways.
The hotel is like five minutes (if that) from the main street and is directly opposite central pier so your in the middle of everything.
I liked the location, I liked the price and I loved the people.
I have an OCD and I wasn't tearing my hair out here so some people are just over-reacting clearly because I showered everyday and never even noticed that I was sharing the bathroom facilities with a load of other people. If you want all the "homely luxuries" and five star cleaning for next to nothing - then stay home...
