We were staying in the caravan park at Hampton Road. We walked the dog the 20 minutes journey to Blue Diamond to check it out. You have to know where you're going when you visit restaurants. We have high standards. We approved of what we saw so we walked dog to the caravan then caught bus back to Highfield Road.
Shami kebabs tender, moist full of flavour with fresh salad. Lamb balti and lamb with spinach dishes, good portions, tender meat, excellent. Pillau rice fresh and light. Pint of Indian beer tasty. Wine we chose was £13.95 and wife loved it. Our youg boy had eaten greasy fish and chips earlier in the day and was suffering. the boss gave him a drink of ginger which helped.
Suprised to find the boss was English.
We have been all over for good currys including BBC recomended 4 star Ma Goa in Putney when we were in London. This was as good.
One small criticism. One or two popadoms had not dried at the edge. The sauce tray for the popadoms was lovely and flavourful.
Whole lot came to £45 bearing in mind we had drinks.
When you found a good'n you always keep it on your list. When in Blacpool next time we will make a beeline for the Blue Diamond.
An aside. Two mouth customers were trying to be difficult appearing to want to get out of paying for the food they had wolfed down enthusiastically. All the customers in the restaurant told them to shut up, pay the bill and leave.
