“Good family friendly hotel”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

We have just returned from another stay at The Cliffs, our 8th. We visit every year, myself, my parents and my 2 children and are never disappointed. Reception staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. Yes car parking on site is limited but only once in the 8 years have we had to park on the street. If you arrive around or before check in time you should be ok! We always book a family and double room with sea view, excellent views and spacious, clean rooms. Bathrooms are on the small side but are more than adequate! Towels are changed daily. Food is very good quality and always plenty of choice, once you are shown to your table for first time this is your table for the duration of your stay so never a worry you won't get seated no matter what time you choose to dine. We didn't make use of evening entertainment or kids clubs (The Base) not really our thing and sometimes the children do get a bit 'wild' when not supervised in The Base. All in all another great stay!
Tips: request a sea view room and avoid rooms near lift and stairwells as can get a bit noisy. Book for local attractions (eg Tower, Zoo, Sea Life) with hotel reception for excellent savings We will be returning next year!

the staff could have not have been more helpful our sea view room was a good size and spotless my wife and i went for four days bed breakfast and evening meal the food was 1st class be very careful if you have a sweet tooth or you will gain a few pounds in weight there was only 2 things i was dissapointed with was they do not serve tea or coffee with evening meal and i had to park about 40 mtrs away from the hotel we have decided we will be going there again everytime we visit blackpool

Room Tip: try and get a room away from the main staircase has it gets fairly noisy late at night

The Cliffs Hotel Blackpool has great staff in all sections.Absolutely first class food - will satisfy the biggest appetite.decent rooms. entertainment pretty good but far far too loud so you may need earmuffs. the staff and food make up for any shortcomings.

Room Tip: we prefer sea view rooms

The hotel is far north of the tower and quite a walk but has a tram stop just outside and cost £1.50 to the tower. There is limited parking in this hotel out the front of the building, and if you park down the side they ask you for your keys to shuffle them about if and when they need to. However there is pleanty of parking for free down the side streets. The reception staff were friendly and helpful however the rest of the Staff just seemed to be there at this hotel asif it was just a job attitude not grumpy but not happy. The rooms were good adequate, clean and tidy and in good condition, towels and linen were clean and smelt fresh. The bathroom was clean. However if you want a no2 on the loo there is very little space, on side of the loo your pushed up against cold tiles and the other side one cheek is on the bath, very uncomfortable. The corridors are noisy and through the door you can hear everything and they can hear you! We were on the 3rd floor and the lift in the hotel is very small with alot of people waiting to use it all the time. Breakfast was good, lovre that it is buffet help yourself. Not keen on the sausages seemed a bit cheap. But edible. The toast , tea, and coffee you need to flag a waiter down for them, not sure they will come to you without provocative. Toast is stone cold too. And you can reserve a table or not, which is really annoying, why bother with this? So many reserved tables for breakfast? Why?

Any how a good hotel for a reasonable priced hotel.

Room Tip: 1st floor! As the small lift that the whole hotel want to use! And try to get a sea view.

We have just returned after a ten day break at the cliffs hotel and what a fantastic time we had.
I will start with the negatives first as there are not many. First the entertainment can get a little repetitive we saw the same singers three times and the routine was the same each night it would be nice if they could sing some different songs,it was the same with one of the comedians. Also some parents need to control there children as they run riot around the hotel destroying whatever they lay there hands on, when we went to play table tennis we were told the net had been broken and the bats had the rubber ripped off when it was fixed and new bats provided it took one day before the bats were broken again.
Now for all the good stuff. Straight from checking in we were made to fill welcome once checked in make sure you go straight to the restaurant to book in for your stay, you will be shown around the dinning area and given all the information you need on how service works you can then choose your table were you will sit for your stay. The rooms were spotlessly clean and there was plenty of room for what you need. The staff were all brilliant helpful and polite at all times especially Emjay in the restaurant. The food was fantastic all cooked to your liking and plenty of choice. The swimming pool and spa were a great place to relax and unwind. Although this hotel is only two stars it fells more like a four star hotel. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning very soon.

Room Tip: Higher floor and sea view.

Myself, my husband and my 2 girls aged 6 and 2 have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Cliffs to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We could not recommend the hotel enough. On arrival we were a little early to check in so we enjoyed a light lunch in the lounge. The choice, service and quality was lovely. We checked into our family room which was clean and spacious with everything we needed for our stay. We ate in the restaurant every evening, the staff were so friendly and very efficient clearing our table and bringing out our main meals. The food was outstanding particularly the roast lamb I had on our second night and the kids loved the self service aspect and loved the selection of deserts.
The Base for the kids looked great although to be honest we didnt use as we has full days out planned. The pool was well used and the kids loved the nightly disco. All in all a fantastic stay, thank you so much to all the staff at the Cliffs we will definitely see you again

If you're the sort of person who likes to take photos of mould on shower curtains, loose tiles or faulty door locks, then the Cliffs probably wouldn't be the right choice for you, as it has the odd fault.
However if you want to stay in an excellent location, enjoy great food, brilliant entertainment for both kids and adults, good facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi and superb service from the staff then it should be a strong consideration.
We stayed there with my 2 daughters and their families from Friday 15th August until Monday 18th and enjoyed an absolutely superb break, which did me a power of good.
The rooms are small as the Cliffs was built in an era when en-suites weren't common but are nicely decorated with plasma TV, tea and coffee making facilities and ours had a lovely sea view. With a small bathroom with toilet and shower.
But the hotel comes into it's own with it's excellent facilities, particularly for children and 'The Base' Kids Club deserves a mention as does the full programme of cabaret every evening, which is of a very good standard.
Two things however make the Cliffs stand out, the food is outstanding and the menu very varied every evening with a vast array of tempting starters and delicious deserts buffet style, with your main course served at the table - the steak on the Friday evening was superb and the lamb on Sunday was the best I have ever tasted. Breakfast was also very good and with a wide choice whatever your taste.
The second thing that sets the Cliffs apart is the absolutely incredible value that it offers, which must be amongst the best in the UK. Our bill coming to less than £280 for 2 for the 3 nights.
