Having recently returned back from a 3 night break at The Cliffs over the bank holiday weekend, this hotel provides excellent value for money.
The rooms are very clean & tidy & the food at the hotel is excellent, offering a fantastic choice of menu.
The Cliffs is a credit to the Choice hotels group as are the staff that work there, from the cleaners to the bar staff to the restaurant staff & not forgetting the entertainment team & the staff on reception.
I would not hesitate to return back as I am sure most of you will once you have visited.
It may be abit further from the centre of Blackpool but it is well worth the pleasant 25 minute stroll into town, along the seafront. There is however if you prefer a bus stop outside the hotel and taxis are easy to come by.
An added bonus to the hotel which I haven't used is the pool/gym which are also available & you can even spoil yourself with some beauty treatments!
When visiting the hotel if you don't want to venture too far & fancy a change of bar scene there is also Dolly's Bar which is situated at the side of the hotel. This offers very reasonable prices & bar meals & pool & snooker are available too.
Having read this review I guess the only thing to do now is experience it for yourself.
Happy Holiday!

Room Tip: Book early to avoid disappointment.

Stayed here with my wife, 16 year old son & 82 year old mother it was faultless, a little far out for my mother but there is a tram stop & bus stop right outside the hotel. Staff, hotel, food impeccable. could not find anything to complain about. one small point tho, it did get hot in the bar areas in the evening & air conditioning turning on would have been nice but honestly we had a fabulous time & will use this hotel again. our plates were cleared at every meal & non of your tinned rubbish here it was all freshly prepared piping hot fresh food. congatulations to everyone at the hotel.

We stayed at the Cliffs many times when our daughters were young, visiting relatives nearby. Last month our daughters decided to arrange a family reunion and we were to stay at The Cliffs once more.

I've thought long and hard how to write this, because we have such happy memories, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves this time - but at times it was a "this is so awful it's amazing experience". So, I think that we have changed (our other holiday experience at the time was camping) and The Cliffs hasn't.

So - what was good: Pleasant reception; sea view room; swimming pool; singer in the cabaret; good location

Not quite so good: shabby decorations (please do something to show off that magnificent staircase) both in some of the public areas and both our bedrooms and bathrooms; small double bed (my husband worried he was going to fall out!)

Pretty bad: Food - we had one evening meal which I could not recommend. Breakfast was poor - hard boiled poached eggs on toast! I understand (from the waitress - more on that to come) that the kitchen is some distance away. Everything arrived plated up and luke warm. Comedian in the cabaret - smutty, unoriginal jokes even though children were present

Awful: Service in the restaurant. According to the menu the staff are called Food Service Assistants and I wonder whether this title suggests a downgrading of skill and pay. The person who brought our food clearly wanted to be somewhere else or at least frightened us into thinking she did!

Will we return? No, but we do still have those memories

We were pleasantly surprised when booking in at the hotel,we were upgraded to a sea-view room on arrival.
The room was nice and the staff friendly. Discount tickets were available at reception for the attractions.
The food was excellent in the restaurant and the service was good.
However, in the evening, the entertainment room was more like a creche , children were on stage and touching the electrical equipment. This spoiled the cabaret evenings, and was a safety problem. Children were still in the venue at 11pm and so the comedian could not perform his act as was planned because of this. We expected children to be out of the evening entertainment room by 9.30pm as in the Claremont Hotel.

Room Tip: room 209 is a quiet sea-view room

It's our 2nd stay at The Cliffs and we love it. It's a bit out of the way from the town centre but only £5 in a taxi or a decent 20 minute walk.

The rooms have been modernised although the bathrooms are dated but the most important thing is that it's clean and comfortable.

We stayed on a Dinner, Bed and Brfeakfast option and I would definately recommend it. The evening meal was 4 courses and was stunning. Plenty to choose from and quick service.

The leisure facilities are good although as the pool and gym are small, it doesn't take many people to pack it out!

Staff were great- very helpful and polite.

We will definately make sure we return. We have been to Blackpool and stayed in lots of different places- most small hotel's charge £50 per room just for bed and breakfast whereas you get breakfast and dinner at he Cliffs for £79. Really worth it. We can't stay anywhere else now!
