We visited this hotel between 11th and 20th June 2009 to visit various places around the Blackpool area and stayed in a deluxe double room. The staff were very friendly and polite and check-in was quick and efficient.
Our room was located on the third floor facing the park which we requested (high floor facing park) so this was good that they could accommodate our request, something that many hotels simply ignore I suspect. The boutique room was well layed out and spacious with flat screen TV and a DVD player, remote controlled fireplace, work desk and chair, and air conditioning. The work desk had wired dial up and LAN Internet connections, and the room had free secure Wi-Fi access. The TV came with a small selection of additional channels the likes of Sky News, ITV2, CBBC, and a few BBC Radio channels etc. There was also free Tea & Coffee making facilities with an ice machine, vending machine, and ATM (charged around £1.50 per withdrawal) on the ground floor close to reception. Our room had a large bed which was nice and comfortable. At the end of room there were two chairs to sit and relax for watching TV or the passing coasters through the patio doors. Floors were part finished floorboard and part carpet. The bathroom was a good size with shower and a nice deep bath with the usual complementary toiletries. Our room was serviced everyday with fresh towls and turndown service.
Noise from the park, which is literally a stones throughing distance from our patio doors was understandably loud, and noticeable yet not disturbing again with the doors closed. This is to be expected really when your hotel is next to a theme park really. We didn't however notice any noise from the adjoining rooms or passing guests. Free parking is available on site with limited spaces, however we always managed to find a space.
We dinned in the hotel and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced. The bar however (as with most in-house bar's) was rather expensive. Around £7 for two drinks. We ordered room service twice and it was quick to deliver with a £5 surcharge for service.
Checkout was by 11:00am which could be extended slightly for a fee.
We found this to be an excellent all round hotel and are planning to stay here again when visiting the area in the future.
