We visited this hotel between 11th and 20th June 2009 to visit various places around the Blackpool area and stayed in a deluxe double room. The staff were very friendly and polite and check-in was quick and efficient.
Our room was located on the third floor facing the park which we requested (high floor facing park) so this was good that they could accommodate our request, something that many hotels simply ignore I suspect. The boutique room was well layed out and spacious with flat screen TV and a DVD player, remote controlled fireplace, work desk and chair, and air conditioning. The work desk had wired dial up and LAN Internet connections, and the room had free secure Wi-Fi access. The TV came with a small selection of additional channels the likes of Sky News, ITV2, CBBC, and a few BBC Radio channels etc. There was also free Tea & Coffee making facilities with an ice machine, vending machine, and ATM (charged around £1.50 per withdrawal) on the ground floor close to reception. Our room had a large bed which was nice and comfortable. At the end of room there were two chairs to sit and relax for watching TV or the passing coasters through the patio doors. Floors were part finished floorboard and part carpet. The bathroom was a good size with shower and a nice deep bath with the usual complementary toiletries. Our room was serviced everyday with fresh towls and turndown service.
Noise from the park, which is literally a stones throughing distance from our patio doors was understandably loud, and noticeable yet not disturbing again with the doors closed. This is to be expected really when your hotel is next to a theme park really. We didn't however notice any noise from the adjoining rooms or passing guests. Free parking is available on site with limited spaces, however we always managed to find a space.

We dinned in the hotel and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced. The bar however (as with most in-house bar's) was rather expensive. Around £7 for two drinks. We ordered room service twice and it was quick to deliver with a £5 surcharge for service.

Checkout was by 11:00am which could be extended slightly for a fee.

We found this to be an excellent all round hotel and are planning to stay here again when visiting the area in the future.

I stayed in this hotel for a weekend with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and in a good state. We booked direct with the hotel and this was by far the cheapest way of doing it at the time we booked. All of the staff were helpful and friendly and, without exception, absolutely lovely.

Although we were travelling as a couple of friends the hotel was very family friendly and seemed to cater well for kids (peering into the other rooms on our floor at cleaning time we could see that there were family rooms available) it is also slap bang next to the pleasure beach so if you are planning on taking kids there it is ideal.

Breakfast was good with a decent selection and good quality, our only complaint was that the hash browns were a bit greasy! We also ate in the brasserie couple of times (one lunch, one dinner) and the food was really very nice.

The hotel isn't swanky but it is good and if you are looking for somewhere nice to stay at a reasonable price then it fits the bill.

We stay at this hotel with our two young children once a year for a couple of nights. We can always manage to get a special rate and stay in a family room. We generally stay in the superior family room, but last visit got a special rate on a deluxe family room which, to be honest, wasn't any better than the superior, just a slightly different finish (dark wood rather than beech effect, from memory). We are always impressed with the hotel but were glad we didn't pay a premium for a deluxe room that didn't offer our family any extra.( Probably better for families with older children as the bunk beds are bigger.)The breakfast buffet is really lovely. The staff are friendly and we always request a room with a Pleasure beach view. Always clean, never rowdy, just sometimes a bit pricey or we'd stay there for longer.

Recently stayed at the BB, efficient friendly staff. The whole place was clean & tidy. Had a bar snack one day which was good and reasonably priced.
Booked a deluxe room, which was very good, although smaller than I'd anticipated.
If you're taking children to the Pleasure Beach (or going yourself)then this is an ideal location for you. Although it's a nice, clean and well run hotel, I can't help thinking it's a little pricey. I would recommend it, especially if you can negotiate/find a cheaper rate.

I have been to the Big Blue Hotel from the 4th to 6th July with my husband for a weekend break from the hectic life in London.....What can i say. I've been looking for a nice hotel before i ended up booking this one. I read some nice review on it on the trip advisor and i couldnt find one better than this one...so This hotel is marvellous....If you people get a chance to go to blackpool , do go to the Big Blue HOtel. There are so many hotels around there but i bet its one among the best i must say. Even if its a bit expensive, i didnt regret it though.
THe staff are very nice but the only thing which disappointed me at the start was when i checked in, they didnt give me the exact info concerning direction for my room, so i was up and down and kind of lost, with my bags and everything. I was a bit pissed off but when i entered my room, i was over the moon.....
Anyway, i would recommend you people to you there...and enjoy
