“Big Blue”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I visited the Big Blue Hotel in August 2013 and would definitely visit again. The staff were very attentive, the rooms lovely and the breakfast fantastic. It is refreshing to stay in accomodation where customer service is at the top of the list.

Stayed here to make the most of blackpool the next day. We got a good deal as we was arriving very late. Good quick check in.we had superier room which was big and had everything in including a cot. Great night sleep in the bed followed by a fantastic breakfast. Its basic breakfast buffet but the best i have ever had. It had loads of hot and cold food available. Only downside is had to be out car park by 1pm other times we been wr could stay all day.

We have stayed here a couple of times now and the food is good, the staff are great, its close to everything for the kids. I would go back again and again. If you don't mind a little noise from the Pleasure Beach, then rooms to the rear are fine.

Have stayed in this hotel twice both in upgraded room first time the room was an upgrade without being told which was a nice surprise and on our recent visit, Feb 2013, we payed and extra tenner per night for it well worth it!

Rooms are lovely and quiet, beds comfy, seating area nice and bathrooms are nice too. Rooms are very clean too as is rest of hotel!

Bar area is small but nice, on recent visit we had afternoon tea it was very nice. On both occasions we have eaten at the hotels restaurant food is really great and nicely priced. Room service is good too and breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic and help yourself to a much as you want.

staff are all great too! Would recommend!

Room Tip: Upgrades are worth it.

The outside really needs some paint. It's just over priced for where it is and what it is.

I stayed in lots worse and I don't mind where I stay. This place isn't horrid or nasty, just expected more for money.

The rooms really need some maintenence. There was unfinished paint work, the toilet kept dripping.

The cleaning staff were so friendly and really nice on the plus side.

I would only book a standard room, not deluxe. Save your money for a bag of chips.

We stayed here last week for 2 nights and I must say, I'll certainly be back!
We were greeted by lovely staff who were helpful, explained where our room was located and how to log on to the Wifi service. Entering our room, it was lovely and clean with fresh linen and toiletries and plenty of storage space.
We enjoyed staying here and had a comfortable nights sleep.
It is perfect for the Pleasure Beach, as staying here means you don't need to queue in the busy entrance and you can also enter through the VIP gate.
We paid for the short break package, which included dinner on the first evening. I must say the food was very good and the service was lovely.
Overall I thought this hotel was a little pricey, but I don't mind paying for good service and a lovely stay. We loved it!!

Stayed overnight with work colleagues... Its probably the best Blackpool has to offer really. Its modern, new style, clean and efficient.... My room looked directly onto the Big Dipper which was a bit odd, but as long as you aren't sitting in the room all night you wont't hear it! Seeing people going past on racehorses and in the big deeper as the squeal past your window is funny though...

The bar was good and we had some great late night sandwiches in there... Breakfast was very 'holiday buffet' style, but was equally great quality and well organised.

Overall, if I was to go back to Blackpool then I would more than likely stay here!
