Many thanks for your kind comments. We’re really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and not least the entertainment along with compare Nicky.
Best Wishes for the Festive Season.
I have been to the Elgin multiple times in the last 5 years. All I have to say is ignore that they came 4th on 4 in a bed because this place is lovely the rooms are well kept and are well furnished and entertainment is well fitting to its target market. I would happily stay there again and lets just say im much much younger than 60 :) my mum and auntie both also enjoyed their stay.
Many thanks for your kind comments. We’ve had a lot of similar feedback regards ‘4 in a Bed’ but we were happy to take part. ‘We Woz Robbed!’
I have stayed at The Elgin Hotel three times over the past few years, even staying there for my 40th birthday with a group of friends and we found it faultless. The food and the service was second to none and I think that being on Channel 4's ' Four in a bed' has done The Elgin a disservice. I normally love watching 'Four in a bed' but I couldn't believe my eyes when The Elgin came fourth. I would definitely stay there again and I hope the programme doesn't put off any future visitors. It is one of the best hotels in Blackpool in my opinion and I hope it goes from strength to strength.
Many thanks for your kind comments. We’ve had a great response to ‘4 in a Bed’ – as you will have seen on the program we’ve taken it all in good spirit. We’re hoping for a re-match!
We took my mum to the Turkey and Tinsel last week and this was our 3rd visit. Everything from arrival to departure was excellent ,The Elgin is a credit to Nigel and all his staff .Our heartfelt thanks to you all for a wonderful hotel and for all your hard work in providing an excellent service.
Many thanks for your kind comments – we’re really pleased that you enjoyed your Turkey and Tinsel stay. Your complements regards the service of ‘Team Elgo’ are much appreciated.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes
Having visited this hotel on no less than three occasions, I do not feel that appearing on a Four in a Bed has done them any justice whatsoever. We have always had a lovely time, had no issues whatsoever with cleanliness and found this hotel to be good value for money. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Annie – we’ve had a huge response to Four in a Bed and it’s all been very positive.
Many thanks for your support.
Stayed at the Elgin 8-10/11/13 with my 2 sons (we were using it as a base for a birthday trip to a premiership match). On check-in the staff retreived our booking and went into a huddle saying "that room number looks strange" (I had previously emailed to explain that I was bringing my 2 sons for their 12th and 21st birthdays and was assured they would give me a nice room and I'm suspicious that the reception staff decided maybe we should have a lesser one?) then they gave us a room on the top floor right at the back. It was as well we didn't want to swing any cats! Barely enough room to get between the beds, it was tiny for 3 people. It was clean however and warm (maybe too warm). The shower wasn't much more than a trickle of water and we had a bit of trouble trying to get the window to open. We came down for dinner and when a waitress came to see if we wanted a drink, we ordered 2 ciders and a coke. She made a whole fuss about wether my son was old enough to have a drink (he is 21 and six foot tall) and insisted that he get out his driving licence in front of all the other diners to prove his age! Somewhat embarrasing for him and totally unneccessary I thought. In the event, we had our starter and main course finished when i went looking for her to see why the drinks hadn't arrived. It seemed she was too busy so we had our cider along with dessert. The food was ok but a bit "school dinnerish for me". In fairness, I'm sure the hotel would be more suitable for the older traveller and there were many of them having a great time. There was a sixties night in one bar and a big band night in the other (both nights) so we didn't really have anywhere to go in the hotel as we weren't there on one of the entertainment packages. I picked the hotel as part of a Stenna Line package and paid a good deal more for it on the strength of the tripadvisor rating but I think for me the rating was too high. OK hotel for a stopover but not what the reviews lead me to expect I msut say.
Many thanks for your feedback. I remember talking with you about the Liverpool win last Saturday and was sorry to read your comments regarding your room. I have spoken to Reception and I think their ‘huddle’ was due to the fact that they realised that a larger room would have been more suitable for you. They were actually trying to find you a larger room but unfortunately there was nothing available for the whole of your stay. We don’t usually have problem with our showers but there are occasions, as in many large buildings, when at times of high demand there is a drop in water pressure.
With regards to the need for ID for your son, it is unfortunate that we can’t leave this to chance. Believe it or not, a couple of years ago the Police sent youngsters into the hotel and carried out a random check on whether we would serve them. Unfortunately one of the team never thought to ask about their age and served a sixteen year old with 2 pints of lager. This resulted in us getting a written warning from the licensing authorities making it quite clear that we would lose our licence if we did this again. Personally, I think it better to let youngsters drink responsibly in adult company, but sadly I don’t make the rules and we now have a very strict code of practice. I’m sorry this was not done more diplomatically and also that you had to wait so long for your drinks. I’ll be happy to stand the first round should you decide to pay us another visit in a larger room!
Please be assured that all guests (including children) are welcome in the Cabaret bars.
I do hope you’ll return – don’t hesitate to contact me prior to booking so that we can arrange a suitable room for you. We will endeavour to fully meet your expectations.
