“Very comfy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

We stayed at the Alandene after deciding that we would have a couple of days in Blackpool after our return from holiday. We actually chose the hotel because of getting a good rate from Superbreak however we were very glad we did.
We arrived on a Wednesday which meant there was parking available at the front of the hotel (at the weekend however there wasn't enough room for all the cars so we were blocked in so I would suggest you arrive as soon as you can to check in). We were greeted by Steve, who owns the hotel with his wife Gail, who showed us to our room. The hotel and the room were very modern, very clean and very comfortable. The bed was amazing, not your usual B&B thin mattress but a nice thick one that was not too soft but not to firm. The en-suite was not as small as some we have used in the past and the shower cubical was a good size, it would certainly suit an older person or someone with reduced mobility as there was only a very small lip to step over into the the shower.
The room was quite warm which we realised on the second night was because we had the radiator on but it least it showed that it could be warm in the winter.
The breakfast was AMAZING every morning, it seems that they alternate between fresh and tinned tomato and there was your usual cereals and fruit juices available. Steve always made sure you had enough toast offering more if you wanted any.
There is a bus stop just a few feet to the right of the hotel where you can get the no. 3 bus into town, if you get a Blackpool 1 Day Saver for £4.50 a day (or £10.50 for 3 days) you can have unlimited travel on the buses and the trams, this was very very handy and we certainly got our use out of it. There is no need to get the bus into town if you don't want to as the hotel is approx 15 minutes walk from the front but if your coming back after dark I found it felt safer on the bus.
We will certainly be remembering and booking The Alandene next time we come to Blackpool.

Stayed here for Blackpool light switch on. Comfortable room, lovely hotel. Breakfast was amazing and staff we're lovely. We're even told when we checked in if we had any questions whether it be the best restaurant or bars to just ask and he would point us in the right direction, which was a lovely touch. Only little thing which we didn't let spoil our stay was we couldn't get the shower to run hot after following instructions, cold shower woke us up and door a little stiff was worried of waking other guests when opening or closing. Didnt make a difference to our stay so didnt mentionit. Location a good 10minute walk to coral island but didn't bother us. Keep up the good work.

Room Tip: Room 2 was our room on the front.

We stayed here for one night 31.08.2013 There were 8 of us and a baby. The food was beautiful, hot and plentyful. The owners were extremely accomodating. My 3 year old nephew needed a bed guard which we had forgot to ask for when booking, but they managed to get it sorted even though it was 8.30 at night when we got there. They put the travel cot up for the baby and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We asked for adjacent rooms and we were all kept together. I would recommend this place to anyone, but especially if you have children. I have never known anywhere that offers to feed a baby while the parents had their breakfast, but Gail id. And i think that is worth a weight in fold. So thank you so much for all your hospitality and help, both of you. Rooms were lovely and clean, bed was comfortable. And the best thing was, it was lovely and quiet. Thanks again Alandene.

Only stayed one night on our way to Liverpool. The service was excellent and very welcoming. Our double room was quite small but all modern, fresh and clean. All new fresh linen and a very comfy sleep.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here from october 29-november 3rd.

We had 3 rooms, 2 family and a double. We were in the annexe building next to the main building. This wasn't a problem at all. The rooms were a good size, warm and had everything you need. The beds were comforable and had great bedding, quilts and pillows. The ensuites were good with showers, toilet and sink and had plenty of towels.

Gail and Steve were great hosts and couldn't do enough for you. The breakfasts were plentiful and hot. They have a little bar/ lounge room which is warm and cosy with a tv. The drink prices were really good.

The hotel isn't on the prom but it only took us 10minutes to walk there or a taxi for 6people cost £5. It was nice not to be on the prom as it was quieter.

I will definately stay here again. One of the best holidays i have had in blackpool.

Thanks Gail and Steve
