Owner description: Blackpool Zoo is a family friendly attraction, providing fun and education for all ages. Situated only 2 miles inland the Promenade, the park is easily accessible from the M55 motorway. Over 1000 animals, birds and reptiles reside in a scenic 32 acre park amidst mature trees, lakes and spacious lawns where the kids can burn off their excess energy. All your favourites are here including big cats, elephants, giraffes, sealions, gorillas, orangutans, camels, zebras and many, many more. Opened in 2014, the new Orangutan Outlook allows visitors to get up close and personal with these charismatic apes. Great day for everyone. Plenty to see and many interactive things to do. Plenty of places to eat and get a drink and prices reasonable. Family ticket is good value. The main restaurant is very noisy and can get very busy at traditional meal times. Lots of different aminals to see and the monkey house is excellent.

This is a fantastic place to visit for all the family. Well worth the money. There are seal shows which is very educating.

Incrediable day - totally ruined by the rain. As a zoo, it is of course all outdoors. Was bitterly disapointed cos it is amazing zoo all open very few fences. A lot of the enclosures are sunken so your looking into them. Shows and feeds every hour too! Do not miss the sea lions - my little one was left speechless quite a novelty!! The bird show was cancelled due to rain but when the keeper saw us waiting he done a little private show, bringing the birds out for us to see and we even petted an owl. The children's farm was a bit sad but overall amazingly good value - half the price of most attractions (£15 each - they took concessionary bus pass as proof of disabilty so I paid £8) tea is reasonable at £1.50 - cafe of course very expensive. Lovely picnic tables inside the huts where you can see the animals and eat in the dry. Highly reccomended

I was last at the zoo about 7 years ago and it has really changed in many ways it used to be all open in the centre with everything around the outside but it has now been very well planted with trees and the gorilla enclosure is terrific, they are building a new area for their orang-utans and if the other improvements are anything to go by it will be well worth waiting for. Its very easy to get to the zoo I find the best way is No 20 bus from the town centre and there are 4 an hour to return

I always love visiting zoos, I guess it takes me back to my childhood. This was however, one of the best days out ever. The animals are terrific , so well looked after for. The crowds were not too bad and everything at the zoo was so clean. Litter was non existent. What a great place to bring your children to. Safety is excellent here. And the staff are very caring. Great day out!
