Just had an incredibly good weekend. I bought the Big ticket offer in a charity auction and was n't sure what to expect. I hadn't been to Blackpool for ages and I must admit programmes like 999 what 's your emergency had done its image in my mind a great amount of harm.
I really couldn't knock the place. It is really quite smart on the sea front and the attractions Dungeons, Sea Life, The 4D experience, Madame Tussauds were fantastic but the best was the Tower circus Panto on its last night.
Give it a try , I have a girl 11 years and an 8 year old boy and they loved it.
We stayed at the Big Blue Hotel which is little pricey but very, very nice and a bit of a 'get what you pay for' deal.

The feeling of being there is like going back in time. Do not go expecting a Las Vegas upmarket presentation, go expecting to feel the past and absorb the history. We went to the New Years Eve Ball several years ago and dressed up like we were royalty, every time we visit Blackpool to see family - its a must to pop in and walk around. The tower ballroom I could just sit in all day. I am nostalgic, so for me its amazing and when I saw it on Coronation Street I had the same feeling .....and we are on another continent right now!

Went to Tower ballroom to see Michael Jackson tribute but was disappointed also supporting act was a zany comedian who was too daft to be funny, and the drinks were expensive, the décor was nice. At £15 per ticket I thought it would have been worth the visit but it wasn't.

Used to work in here many moons ago and it was one price to enter and you could go up the tower as much as you liked, ballroom was free back then but now everything you want to do costs extra, a family on a budget would struggle without coupons.
Been there done it certainly wouldn't do it again, shame on you Blackpool exploiting the tourists you need to survive.
