Great view, if you like heights. Would have liked to have seen the ball room but this is another cost
The Blackpool Tower is FULL of a range of different activities!
The best, and most iconic thing about Blackpool HAS to be the Blackpool Tower. It can be seen for miles, and stands proudly on the edge of the coast.
It's physically installed on top of an old, red-bricked building, with lovely architecture. The main entrance opens directly onto the promenade, in front of the Comedy Carpet.
Inside, there are several floors, with a range of activities within, including:
Blackpool Tower Circus
Jungle Jims (Play Area)
Blackpool Tower Eye (Top of the Tower)
Blackpool Tower Dungeon (Scare attraction)
There may be other attractions added throughout the seasons, but this is how it stands at time of review.
All attractions are owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, and you can buy a grouped ticket for all of the attractions (plus Sea Life + Madam Tussauds, further down the sea front), or individual tickets, depending on what you'd like to experience.
Price wise, it makes sense to get a grouped ticket, but there are a plethora of options available. Make sure to check out local and regional press, as well as Walkers / Carex products, as they often have 2-4-1 vouchers on them.
Nice views but I thought it was over priced just to go up in a very cramped lift to look at a gorgeous view don’t get me wrong but as a family of 5 works out a bit pricey
Never been to a circus in my life ..and thoroughly enjoyed it.....all the acts were marvellous...the children loved it ages 4 and 6 ...it was packed so goes to show they are popular ..I would go back again
Was a little sceptical about going to the dungeons as we were a group of 6 adults with no children! But all I can say is fantastic! All the actors and effects were brilliant. Definitely worth a visit
We visited the circus and at the top which is the 4d show and entrance to the top of the tower and glass floor. The views were great even though it was overcast. We climbed the 3 flights of stairs to go higher but didnt spend long as it was really windy. 5 year old loved it. There's lots more to do in tower so I would plan in advance as tickets are cheaper online and you can choose which attractions you want to see.
Thankfully on a windy day we were able to experience the Blackpool Eye and enjoyed the experience before it unfortunately got close later in the day due to adverse weather conditions.
Our Quinn experience wasn’t too bad, the queues are carefully managed so you join several queues at different stages of the tour so it doesn’t end up as a day of queueing.
It would have been a better experience if the 2 lifts to the top had been working. It slows the flow down considerably when only one lift is operational.
Really enjoyed the 4D experience, although all 4 of us had awful quality glasses to put on you forgot about them once the show began. The 4D show is essentially a tourist pro-mo film but has some good effects.
Shame we couldn’t get into the circus, our fault, should have booked in advance.
Enjoyed our visit to the tower, very different to my last visit 40 years ago!
The actual tower was closed this day however they did give us tickets to return and use the later on, however all the other attractions that day were incredible... Love love the circus and the dungeons
Wish other merlin attractions were to the same standard really!
A few years back... you could pay to go in the tower,,, and go in everything. You could even leave.... return... and revisit the attractions including going back up the tower for a second time in the evening to check out the view at night. However this is no longer the case!
The biggest issue with The Blackpool Tower.... The booking system online is a complete joke. Booking tickets for the circus does not guarantee you a seat, and if you get there and can't get in.... no refund!!! Just a valid ticket for 90 days. We were there in October... Who is gonna revisit from a distance in November, December or January???
Cant get in.... Refund please... your fault you have oversold the seats!!!
Surely you lot know how many people you can seat within the circus???
Here is a solution to the problem...
If you have say 1000 seats...... Only sell tickets... you guessed it... for a 1000 seats. Do not over sell tickets! what a complete joke. No other venue I know of would ever even do this except the Jeremy Kyle Show, but thats free you just tip up and take your chance. Football stadiums with 80,000 seats don't sell 120,000 seats, because they can't fit them in!
Same goes for going up the actual tower, book your tickets online, get there, its closed due to bad weather... which is perfectly acceptable!!! .... However, what isn't acceptable is to take peoples money online (Which you are forced to do because the difference in the walk up price is pretty staggering), and then when its shut,, just tell them their ticket is valid for 90 days.... err no, we paid our money, we can't go up,,,, Therefore,, refund please!!! I won't be coming back within 90 days. Hence why we decided to not book Up the Tower tickets just in case of bad weather... good job we didn't as when we went, yep, you guessed it, it was closed.
The whole system is a complete sham online! You lot do need to sort this out as you will just end up really putting people off, and guess what... they won't return!!
The circus is really good, but could be better. I would recommend going, book online, but for the love of god, get to the queue an hour before the performance starts so you actually get in!!
We took our grandchilren in here for the day, well we thought it was for the day we stayed for about 3 hours and then left as the two children got very board. We took them round for something to eat what a disaponitment that was chips half cooked burgers over cooked and one of the staff waping the table while the food was still sitting he hit the cartin of juce spilling it over the kids trousers he told us that he was away for a wipe he after about 10 minutes waiting for him to return we had to take the kids out and back to the hotel to get them changed.
Apart from the massive queue it was really good. My advice: take in the 3D cinema viewing on the tower tour, it’s great.
