I had a very enjoyable afternoon dancing on a fine floor, well filled with other people enjoying the pleasure of moving to music.
The Ballroom has been well refurbished and the skylight is now operational again, as is the brilliant Wurlitser Organ. The Afternoon tea option is an indulgence well worth trying.

VBrilliant experience. Quick journey in the lift to the viewing platform. Excellent views over the seafront and town. Was very scary standing on the glass platform but then again I am a bit of a wuss where heights are concerned.

It's about seventeen years since I last went to the top of Blackpool Tower and what a difference! The 4D cinema presentation on the way in is cleverly executed, providing a potted history of the tower in a way that will grab the attention of even the youngest visitors, and the renovated observation deck with glass floor is a brilliant idea. You get a great view over the new "comedy pavement" on the other side of the prom and it's the best way to fully appreciate the way the whole area has been renovated and remodelled over the past few years. We were lucky enough to be in Blackpool on on one of the few really nice weekends of the year and the views up and down the Fylde coast were stunning. The top two observation decks are only accessible via quite narrow spiral stairs but the main enclosed deck is easy to get to even for those with mobility issues or small children. It's possibly not the best attraction for those who suffer from vertigo, as we found out when my friend was really uncomfortable even when standing well back from the glass floor panels, but if you do have a head for heights there are ample opportunities for taking great photos. We visited the Tower Eye as part of the Big Ticket package and as such it was good value. I can definitely recommend pre-booking online - we only paid £30 per person for entrance to seven attractions and the ticket is valid for one visit to each attraction within 90 days of purchase. The only real criticism we had was that, as with all the other Merlin Group attractions we visited, we were channelled into an area where there is a degree of pressure put upon you to have your photo taken by a member of staff. I hate having my photo taken at the best of times and I was unimpressed to find that the reason the queue for the lifts was moving extremely slowly was that we were stuck behind a large group who all wanted their photos taken. Overall the tower is a great place to visit and I love the way that parts of it still look like they did when I first went there as a small child but other areas have been brought right up-to-date with the latest technology. We didn't have time to go to the circus but we intend to do so before our tickets run out.
