“A faded embarressment to a once spectacular Tower”

Went into the Tower paid to go in the Ballroom and the Circus. The Ballroom closed at 5pm meaning we had very little time in there. The decor is stupendous, beautiful and decadent but the carpets are filthy and the whole place has lost its magical atmosphere. No floor shows, no entertainment just kids running around a floor like a social club. How they can charge to go in this place is downright rude. Then I come to the Circus, once the greatest one ring circus in the UK, now a badly put together variety show. No animals which makes it so boring you will fall asleep. The clown Mooky and his brother Mister Boo take up half of the show in long drawn out tiresome dialogue that is as interesting as watching grass grow. The dancers perform easy step together routines, look amazing but could do so much more than the drivel they are given. The star of the show is a dancer who performs the silks and assists the motorbike juggling. I found the clown dragging a coffin out to Michael Jackson's Thriller in despicable bad taste and pathetic. A good trapeze act and a nice water finale if a little short. Get the animals back, get a new choreographer and take it back to the greatest show on earth! The staff in the tower look scruffy in rain coats, herd people like cattle and I feel sorry for them they look cheesed off. The place is so badly managed and empty in character since Merlin took over, it's fate is sealed unless they pack up and get out of the place! Save your money and go in the Winter Gardens down the road, a free beautiful building!

“Excellent”

We hadn't intended to visit the circus, but with a buy one get one free ticket we thought we'd give it a go. We were all impressed, even our teenage sons, some of the acts had us holding our breath.

“Too hot in circus arena to enjoy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

I wouldn't recommend sitting in the balcony seats as it's far too hot to enjoy. No wonder they sell icecream and slush puppies at the interval. Would also not recommend the show for toddlers who don't understand the duo comedy act. The professional acts were very good though.

“Fantastic views, well organised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

We visited The Tower with my Grandad who is in a wheelchair. The staff at The Tower were very friendly and so helpful. The view from the Tower was fantastic and it was well worth a visit. If you book in advance you do save a few pounds but don't forget you photo ID along with your booking confirmation.
