We stayed here and weren't expecting much because of the price. However when we got there we had to Que for an hour to get our room number. The smell of cabbage and drains was overwhelming and extremely nauseating. I was reassured by the fact that we weren't going to spend much time there only using it as a place to crash. However when we got back to the room later i found that not only was the heating stuck on full but we had no windows anywhere in the room. The heat got so unbearable that i went to complain and the person at the desk 'kindly' informed me if i didn't like it the carpark was nice and cold. Going back to the room i was unbelievably pissed off. Would never stay here again even if they offered to pay me

Terrible in every sense. The room is awful. Service is awful. wifi is awful. Just plain awful. Do not stay here under any circumstances as there are better choices for less money. All of the reviews which say this place is terrible are fair and justified as it truly is.

Arrived here on Friday long queue to check in, very slow service. When we eventually got to our room I was shocked at how old fashioned it was, the furniture old and dated the walls were filthy and the smell was terrible. When I seen the toilet I was horrified the smell of drainage was overpowering the sink and bath were very dirty and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the floors and surroundings were also filthy. We ate breakfast the next morning and it was cold and tasteless did not enjoy it at all. The bar was basic but could have done with a good clean, we went there on the Friday night and were shocked when the barmaid called last orders at 11.10pm!! Ridiculous. The whole hotel outside and in is a disgrace shabby dirty and dated its like something out of a horror film, I could not wait to leave!

I would not go back there if someone paid me!!

Our family room..beds plonked anywhere & everywhere barely able to open the door, windows could just about see through them and beds were full of stains was cold and smelled like death. We were then moved to two double rooms which were a little better layout but again cold, radiator broke, smelling, dirty etc etc Like we were in a horror film, Definitely wouldn't stay here again...EVER

I have to admit that I was dubious about staying here in the first place. I had nearly stayed here last July but, after a longish wait to check in, I was told that they were fully booked and my booking was transferred to one of Britannia's other hotels (the Savoy) in Blackpool. This time we were on an inclusive 4 night coach trip and we had been 'pre-booked in' with our room keys being given to us as we alighted from the coach.

It is a big hotel and it was a bit of a trek from the reception area to our room. The room itself was somewhat 'tired' looking but clean enough. The bathroom was a bit better than I expected with a 'jacuzzi' style bath/shower. The room was at the back of the hotel and the view was disappointing to say the least (discarded mattresses, a derelict portacabin and a big metal container. The TV was an old analogue set with just the 4 basic channels.

The meals were adequate and were served buffet style in the dining room. I think we were lucky in that the hotel was nowhere near full and all the guests could be accommodated in a single sitting.

A walk around the hotel grounds was the biggest let-down though. What is happening in the front left corner? A derelict concrete building with blue boards surrounding the area in front of it. They have been there a while as they seem to be falling down. If this is a long term project at least the boards could be refitted properly and painted with a bright seaside mural or something! There is a 'pond' nearby it which was full of discarded paper and should have been cleaned out.

I know this is a 'basic' hotel, but at least they could make an effort to tidy up the grounds around it. First impressions count for a lot!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with seaview.

Had an overnight stay here Friday till Saturday , not only was it a great price but could not believe the room we was given, we asked for exactly what we got it was amazing , From the staff on arrival to the room and then breakfast , what an amazing selection of food and all was really hot, not the usual (warm) food when from buffet service!!
Yes, the hotel could do with a face lift, but this is in no reflection on the running of this Hotel...this is the second time we have stayed here and family & friends! Not one of us have been disappointed ...

Room Tip: Just mark sure you ask for what you'd like from the hotel well before you travel and they will d...
