Read reviews after booking and was really worried what place would be like. Fantastic value for money. Cannot book in b4 230 weekdays and 330 weekends strictly enforced, but they gave me a pass to use spa facilities, which were fabulous. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam all excellent quality. Take own towels, or £1 charge. Got a family room for 5 which had a large reception room with tv, 2 sofas ans a bedroom with large double, single and bunk beds. Carpet looked new and room interior much better than exterior, which is main thing. Room and linen clean. Queued for food but only 10 mins. Main 3 courses all very reasonable standard, and main choices of fillet chicken, pork, ham or all 3 were lovely, and fairly fresh. Tried vegetarian once, and that was great. Entertainment was so so, but ok. Internal pub has happy hour till 7pm but only on certain choices... check 1st. Breakfast usual choices, but very good. Ask for poached if prefer. Madame Tussauds worth a visit. Value was tops, and booked through Brittania hotel group. People a bit "Jack and Vera", but we have no problem with that. Our room was quiet through night also. Recommend if not looking for too high standards.

Room Tip: Ask for refurbished rooms or a suite, if enough people. We paid no extra for suite. Lucky?? I don...

We stayed at the norbreck as a family of 4,children aged2 and 9,at a cost of 100 pound per night, the room was clean and warm but dated the bathroom was like something out of the 50s ,it was a good job our youngest wasn,t dependent on a pushchair because the room was along lots of corridors and staircases with no lift access, also we couldn,t get a table booking for the evening meal until 7pm which was far too late for our 2 yr old,we went to the dining room at 645 because the children were so hungry but were told we had to wait,so the secound night we ate out even though we had paid for the meals, the staff were friendly enough but were so busy talking between themselves we had to clear our own table, the breakfast was good as long as go early to avoid the queues, but the evening menu is something else certainly not worth the money, the whole place needs updating and decorating, the only good thing at this hotel was the pool and the staff at the leisure were nice,i wouldn,t advice anyone to go here, shop around there,s loads of other nicer, better value hotels in blackpool

Room Tip: Ask to be near a lift

went there on a 3 day break with National Holidays arrived at 1.00 couldnt book in till 2.30 had to put cases in a room and come back at 2.30 queued at front desk only to be told to go where cases were to check in,not organised at all,the room was freezing but cleanish. the dining room was okay but freezing only cold air through vents its november .I would like to know why if on a package deal which includes 4 drinks do you have to drink out of plastic cups and the free bar closes at 11,yet the other bar you could get a glass and stayed open, all guests should be treat the same because if it wasnt for National Holidays package deals this hotel would be empty.Wont be going back to Fawtly Towers.

This is one god awful hotel. I don't know who wrote the positive reviews. Seriously, this place is a dump.

On arrival we found out our twin room (805) had been changed to a double (445) without sending any notification of this. The double room was tiny and the old scuffed furniture was huge, meaning there was very little room to move around. The room also stank and was unclean - carpets, curtains, bedding and windows were all unclean.

The receptionist could not have cared less when a complaint was made. This nonchalent attitude became a regular trait of the majority of the staff at this hotel be it at the reception desk, housekeeping, the restaurant or bar. They care about your money, not you as a customer.

The suggestion of using towels as a bolster in the double bed was not acceptable. It took an awful lot of hard work to get what had been originally paid for, a twin room. This room was of an equal standard to the double i.e. there was a musty smell and it was unclean - carpets, curtains, bedding and windows were all pretty rank. There were dirty forks behind the dresser, thick layer of dust on and around the TV and little flies crawling around the bathroom.

There was a huge draught coming under the door which was kept out by laying towels at the bottom of the door to prevent the room becoming cold during the night. The bathroom door would not close properly.

A light bulb actually popped out of the wall light fitting. Despite daily visits by housekeeping, it remained where it landed for several days. Do housekeeping actually do anything? I doubt it.

Although the restaurant food wasn't necessarily unpleasant, it also wasn't particularly exciting. Each day's offering appeared to be a rehash of the previous day's.

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The brochure description was misleading in my opinion and I will be forwarding the above review to the visitblackpool tourist organisation.

This hotel should be condemned and demolished. Foul, foul, foul place.

Room Tip: Don't even bother.

went for five days and four nights for a special 70th birthday surprise' we were so shocked at the unclean rooms and the attitude and unfriendliness of the staff; stained carpets disgusting flooring in the bathroom creepy crawlies on the bathroom floor dirty stained furniture in the lounge carpets in the lounge taped together with masking tape. the image of the norbrek castle hotel on the computer is a totally false example of the hotel. the only pleasant thing about the whole experience was the coach driver!

Room Tip: avoid norbrek castle hotel

Stayed at the Norbreck Castle 9/11/12, And I can honestly say it was the worst place I have ever stayed!! room damp and dust everywere, Hole in bathroom by the sink!
Yes i can understand it is a 400 room hostel- oops hotel, but doesnt mean shouldnt be kept up to scratch!!!

am so lucky it was for only 1 night!!!

If you want a better place to stay, you might as well stay in a pig sty.

Room Tip: Dont even bother booking in the 1st place is my advice!!!

We booked this hotel under one name but needed 2 rooms, we are a group of foster carers and some of our children have special needs, so it was important for our rooms to be together. Our 2 rooms couldnt have been further apart at opposite ends of this large hotel!
We asked to change our rooms but were told that the hotel was full, this it was as the world pool championships were being held in Blackpool at the time, this meant that the dining room was very overcrowded and resembled a canteen, the food was very average.
I had a very young baby with me and the whole corridor and my room stank of cigarette smoke, which was disgusting. The room towels were thin and grey and the bed was like sleeping on a door! The heating was only on part time which meant the the room was freezing whilst giving the baby his night feed.
WE LEFT THIS HOTEL EARLY, for all of the reasons above and also that 3 or our party had gone down with severe sickness and diarrhoea!
Wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone!
