I had stayed at this old hotel approximately 10 years ago and although the decor was tired it was clean and the staff welcoming.. We stayed again in August 2013 and what a disappointment our room should have been a superior sea view large enough to accomodate me in my wheelchair. Reality was we couldnt even get the chair in the lift without removing the footplates and struggling backwards.. the room was so small I couldnt even get round the bed hobbling on sticks never mind with the wheelchair the curtains on the bedroom window were ripped right down the middle the chair by the dressing table was broken and there was no curtain on the bathroom window so open to everyone walking along the prom.. The sheets were grubby pillowcases miss matched and the general standard of cleanliness was abysmal..When I complained i was told well what do you expect for £20 per night..I then explained we were not with the coach tours (the whole hotel was booked out with them and a wedding) and we had paid £90 per night bed breakfast and evening meal. They couldnt move us the first night but did the second and althoough the room was larger the decor and general cleanliness was no better..In fact all I heard the whole time we were there was people complaining. The food was poor quality and minimal portions and when my husband went to fetch two plates from the self service buffet dinner he was told he could only have one and had to point out he was fetching food for his disabled wife who couldnt even move through the cramped restaurant to the buffet table. On the last night we couldnt even get seated at our table booked for 8pm until 8.30 and then when i asked for clean water glasses as the ones on the table were left used by the previous occupants you would have thought i as asking for gold service. Staff were rude unhelpful and critical of the management team within earshot of customers. NEVER will I stay there again and advse no one else does either particularly if you are disabled as you are treated like a second class citizen

Room Tip: With the amount of complaints I heard I dont think there are any good rooms

This hotel gets a lot of bad press. It's not a Hilton, but they don't charge Hilton prices. It's clean, friendly with old fashioned Singalong Entertainment, and staff who look after the clientele very well.

Had a 4 day break in late August 2013, hotel well kept, staff very accommodating, couldn't do enough for you. Evening entertainment awful, meals excellent and plenty, well stocked bar.

Only real complaint - the lack of car parking facilities; there was a pay and display car park next door, but quite expensive. I feel the hotel should do a deal with the council for customers to have free car parking at the pay and display.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - the windows at the back are dirty and half-frosted glass.

Stayed here with my family on a groupon deal for one night.this turned out to be one night to long.
On arrival we noticed a sign saying please use hand sanitiser on entering the building.not a good start.our room was basic,I suppose you get what you pay for,the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom, the toilet wouldn't flush, mould around the bath and tiles and a stain on the bed sheet.the bar area was in need of a good clean ,we noticed someone had written the date on the dust on a window sill.it was still there the next day!!!!!! .the seats were ripped, the curtains were hanging off the rails.evening meal was a carvery style, help yourself .ok but nothing to shout about.the waiting staff didn't seem to know what to do,full tables of plates waiting to be moved, customers been shown to a table and having to move dirty dishes themselves.all in all this hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it into the 21st century.Very poor quality.although I must say the illuminations were brilliant.Kids loved them.....will go back to blackpool, just not the savoy.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

before i get going on this review, when this hotel first opened it was probably incredibly glamourous and posh. But my word, those days are LONG GONE!!

what a dirty hotel this is. as others say it looks good from the outside but that soon changes

when you walk through the front door. ironic that you are prompted to use hand sanitiser before entering and at the reception. id say most places are cleaner than here and best to use on the way out!

ripped furniture and curtains all through the 'hotel', tired and grubby. strange smells. things not cleaned up or wiped. overall just very poor and run down. probably the worst place ive had to stay and I had to pay for the 'pleasure'!!

we only had breakfast at the hotel. its basic. dont expect anything exciting. the big hall where you can eat is more spacious than the small 'dining' area and more pleasant. the small dining room is dingy and cramped.

amazed how busy it was. I wont be returning! and others probably wont either!!

Room Tip: Avoid the hotel and pay for somewhere else
