Great view of the coast. The conservatory bar is beautiful on a nice day and the theatre is great. Loads of character and we saw a good show there

this old pier has always been my favourite but it has lost a lot of its character as part of the pier was destroyed and also the minitram has also dissapeared always get good shows in the pier theatre from variety to musicals

I discovered Blackpool North Pier last Summer and although it was rundown then, it was still a pleasant and peaceful olde-worlde escape from the busy bustle of Blackpool but by the time I visited again late last year, it was full of porta-loos dotted ALL along the pier - all of which were dirty, full of used condoms, used sanitary products, no washing facilities at all and no toilet paper - I was glad I was wearing leather gloves, put it that way!!
I went again on March 17th and it's degraded even further - the end of pier bar was sparse, extremely cold, unfriendly and just not a nice place to be - the seating along the pier and the planks themselves are rotting at an alarming rate, there was dog poo just left on the pier, the paintwork is mostly just rust and the coffee-shop looked closed, the gift shop was staffed by staff who looked so bored, I didn't bother buying anything as they didn't exactly give off a friendly image, the old Penny Arcade, which I loved last Summer was totally closed and the machines that used to stand outside had also gone - it was all just so barren, unloved and not a nice place to be - we spent an entire day there last year enjoying the old atmosphere and drinking hot chocolate, using all of the Penny Arcade machines, buying sticks of rock and personalised souveniers and soaking up the views of the sea and Blackpool before enjoying a few relaxed drinks at the end of the pier - sadly it now looks like this pier is being allowed to just die and I wonder if it'll even be open next year :(

Highly neglected tourist attraction which could have been called a paradise but now is more of a dead place. The place which could have fascinated thousands of tourists is left deserted because of poor management there.....
I still hope that one day it will get it's glory back & would again become the crown of the town!

This will be a very dated report written in March 2013 so if you are reading this after about June please check for accuracy.

Basically it should have been closed the only thing that appeared open was the amusements at the front from that point on the only thing open was a fudge shop the rest of the pier more resembled a building site with scaffolding, partitioning and the like.
