Owner description: North Pier Blackpool - world famous seasiide heritage grade 2 listed landmark pier & attraction - open all year - wanted to review new victorian tearoom and fact that not open even after loads of adverts saying was - disappointed on a hot sunny Saturday afternoon last week it was closed!

Being situated at the north end of the town where the adult party goers concregate, it should in theory make a great place to chill out and relax after a hard nights partying, however it has through bad management and underinvestment become a complete waste of space. Take for example the end bar/cafe with the sun terrace. They used to have plastic recliners that you could lie down on and soak up the sun, but they've taken them away and replaced them with awful wooden seats that are meant for the garden. And then the general state of the rest of the pier with nowhere nice to sit down says it all (there are deckchairs for hire which you would have to carry somewhere on your own). It just goes to show how perennially stupid the people who run this prime piece of Blackpool are. A sad waste.

We visited for the day and were short changed by one of the shops. We were told we had to go back the next day when the boss would be there. so please be aware and make a point of pointing out what type of note you are handing in, as if you don't you may be caught out. That's not to say the rest of the pier wasn't good. As we all enjoyed the rest of the experience.

The North pier makes for a pleasant stroll if the weathers right, some nice views out to sea and of the tower. A small selection of shops and a fortune teller, which is very expensive, but worth a go if you're into that kind of thing. The Victorian penny arcade is nice but a shame that a lot of the exhibits don't work, the machine that gives out the old pennies also malfunctioned and only gave me 12 instead of 20 pennies. Still, good fun to see the old laughing sailor and the fortune telling machines, like stepping back in time. There's various cafes and bars along the pier as well as a nice Carousel for youngsters. The pier hosts shows and live entertainment
and if you're in Blackpool its worth a look to take in the atmosphere and charm.

north pier is made famous by the song the Blackpool belle it was a train that ran to the end of the pier BRING IT BACK ! The penny arcade is quaint but lacking love and attention half the machines dont work the carousel at the end of the pier is a magnificent piece of machinery with its automatic pipe organ playing all the familiar songs of yester'year well worth a ride on a magnificent wooden horse ..again this needs attention the livery on the horses is all broken or patched up the bar at the end of the pier is lovely for the view you get of the sea and the tower with it new changing lights a lovely romantic spot except when the quizzes are on just play some nice music mr dj if we wanted quizzes we would stop at home and watch them on the telly
