“super comfy pillows=great sleep”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2014

Stayed here (heavily pregnant) during the illumination and Halloween long weekend 2013 and had a lovely time. The weather was awful but room was cosy warm. All staff were lovely and hard working. Breakfast was good with a decent cooked full English, lots of cakes, yoghurt, cereals and fruits to choose from also. We had a sea view room right above the entertainment area which did get loud but weeknights the music stopped at 11pm and it was quiet just after midnight at the weekend. The pillows are so comfortable we always slept well :)
No parking but there is a drop off area in front of the hotel so you don't need to walk far with your suitcase. Lots of pay parking nearby however we always managed to find a free space on the nearby streets.
Close (walking distance) to all Blackpool tourist attractions with a tram stop right opposite.

We can't wait to come back when our baby is older, we won't bother looking up other hotels as this one fits the bill for location, price, friendliness and food.
See you soon Balmoral hotel!

Our Family of 15 just had a brilliant W.E. The hotel staff are very amenable and couldn't do enough to please. They were very helpful and kind. They gave us a special table to accommodate all the family for the party. They gave us an area all to ourselves for the Entertainment, which was very good..They even decorated the tables and put banners and balloons up.The double rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. The meals were good and plentiful and plenty of choice. They even presented our daughter with a Magnum of Champagne which we say again Thank You. Will be returning again later in the year. Definitely recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: Lovely sea views and location. Rooms satisfactory.

The sea view room was well worth a bit extra. The staff were helpful and conscientious. The place seems really well cared for- even a cubby hole under the stairs in the dining room had been turned into a childrens area. Breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: The sea view room we had had a big bay window with room for a small table and chairs to read or watc...

OK so the rooms (especially the bathroom) needs tarting up but our stay (15th -17th Nov) was very pleasant. The service and hospitality from staff was excellent, especially the night time porter. One review mentioned that they didn't like keys being handed in every time he left the building, This is more than likely for emergency purposes, how else are they going to know who is in the building or not. The bar area was lovely, like a winter wonderland. We had room 217, lovely big bay window, nothing better than sat with a glass of wine watching the world go by. The coffee/tea making facilities are a bit tight, squeezed behind the door, but there is a dressing table opposite, nothing stopping you moving it to there, as there was only 2 of us this wasn't a major problem. One review mentioned that the bar man/breakfast guy was drinking his tea/coffee whilst working. Didn't see him do this but wouldn't have been a problem, the guy has to drink. All staff were polite and friendly, thats all you need really. The bar and the restaurant downstairs are fairly modern, Breakfast - yes you only get one rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, etc, not the biggest breakfast but they do have a massive choice of yoghurts, cereals, pastries, fruit etc. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and I do think this place you get more than what you have paid for. The only downside would be the music, not overly a problem but could have been a bit quieter, maybe its just me being old! Would I stay here again? Yes I would.

Room Tip: choose a sea view room especially one with a bay window.

Stayed here for the last week of the illuminatioins and to watch my beloved football team ITFC.
There is no car parking at the location which is a big disadvantage. The owner was very friendly and helpful but we did not like the ceremony of the keys every time we went out and came back to find no one on reception to hand you back your keys. Our room had a lovely sea view but the downside was the size of the shower room and the state of its decor. It was grubby with second rate grouting around the sink etc. The bed was large and comfy but the tea and coffee making facilty was crammed into a small space behind the entrance door making it very awkward to make a cup of drink. The room was above the cabaret area so good sleep quality before 1a.m. is impossible. Very nice breakfast area and cabaret facility and nice area for ground floor sea views. The cooked breakfast itself was good on quality but short on quantity so thankfully you could make up for the shortfall with cereals and pastries etc at the self serve area.

Room Tip: Rooms on front give you great sea views but beware of noise from the cabaret on the ground floor.
