“Very poor management and rooms damp and dirty- chaotic”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Arrived on 30th December for New Year break and it was utter chaos. Travelled from Scotland with Blackpool Promotions and room not ready and entrance hall was chaotic with cases everywhere. Corridors full of dirty towels, bedding and hoovers- utter shambles. Eventually allowed to put cases in room that had not been cleaned and told to come back later. Staff were apologetic but it was clear that they were understaffed as rooms were vacated from 10am so they had plenty time to clean them. When did get into room there was board on wall covering damp behind it and room was not cleaned properly. I've written to Hotel but management are not interested in my experience. Will never go back to that hotel or travel with Blackpool Promotions. Only interested in packing people in and no consideration for their customers.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for you taking the time to leave a review of your stay with us.

I apologise for the delay on your arrival, this is certainly not a regular occurrence and was owing to staff shortages. I believe the rooms were delayed be one hour, which again I can only apologise for.

We are currently in the process of renovating guest bedrooms and sincerely hope that you will reconsider using Blackpool Promotions again in the near future.

If you would like to discuss any of the above further, I would be more than happy to help. Please dont hesitate to contact me on 01253 622 717.

Regards

Value for money is a key phrase. Not the ultimate in luxury, but enough going on to help you enjoy a break. Was there for Mon-Fri. As already said by another review, we received notification that there had been a No-vo incident, but all was in hand. Plenty of hand sanitiser everywhere and a letter from meat providers too detailing about the origins of their food (nice touch).

The lifts are exceptionally small and cramped (only enough room for 2) and there was a slightly unsavoury smell of damp or the likes around the lift.

Room was comfortable, although the single room for our party was very compact and the floors very very creaky!!!! Plenty of tea/coffee as well. Food was good, and wholesome.
The cabaret was definitely targeted for the more senior individual but some of it enjoyable. Drink prices quite reasonable though.

That said, the outstanding part of the week was the total dedication and attentiveness of the staff. Ian runs a very good ship in the dining room and he can be rightly proud of every aspect of customer service (especially Sophie). Literally, nothing was beyond them and the reception staff were exceptionally helpful, even when you disturbed them eating! If I were to go back, it would be for the staff - good effort all.

This was the 1st time we have done this trip with Blackpool promotions . Fri-mon 15th-18th dbb & bus £99 . Hotel is old & needs upgrading in parts and was FAR TOO WARM even with windows opened it was boiling. Reception staff were excellent when I asked to change rooms due to health reasons this was done with no fuss. Food - was basic & ok I enjoyed what I had but portion size is catered for the older generation. Bar prices were great . Entertainment on the Saturday night was fantastic . Other nights were ok with singers every night best bit was 3 wins on the bingo £155 . The entertainment manager was a bit frosty at times only night he smiled was the sun night when he sung with his wife. Bar staff were lovely. Overall I had a good time . Defenetly the cheapest way to have a weekend in Blackpool ..we will be back .....

Very apprehensive when booking with Blackpool Promotions as I had read about the Novo virus. However, very pleasantly surprised when called by BP to tell us about the virus and the steps taken to deal with it.
On arrival greeted warmly and booked in quickly. Cases could be taken to room by porter if required.
Sea view room large and clean, although table could do with a deep clean. En-suite much larger than usual Blackpool hotel en-suites. Power shower great but you need to go for a high pressure to get it hot.
Radiators don't cool down but still pleasant because of outside tempretures.
Room given a very basic clean daily but not an issue. Tea, coffee etc replenished daily.
Dining room well organised and sanitizer promptly displayed and used by everyone.
Limited choice for dinner but enough choice to satisfy. Portions good and standard of food excellent. Dining room staff very attentive.
Entertainment of a high quality. Bar staff pleasant and tables cleared of empty glasses and rubbish very quickly.
Hotel going through a refurbishment at the moment but no inconvenience.
Overall a very pleasant enjoyable stay. Will definitely be back

I stayed in this hotel as part of a coach tour with Blackpool promotions - 3 nights DBB including return travel for £99. Regardless of whether you wanted the food and entertainment I still think this is the cheapest way to visit Blackpool for a long weekend. Also, I went with a friend (we're in our late 20s) and this trip was clearly not designed for our demographic but we still had a great time. If you're thinking of visiting Blackpool, don't be put off by the stigma surrounding coach tours - it's a great cheap way to visit.

Food - clearly designed for the older generation but it was fine

Service - very helpful and friendly - bring your own iron if you want to iron anything after 5pm

Entertainment - only saw 1 act but they were great and the drink prices are reasonable
Rooms - ask for a refurbished room as they are lovely though we've stayed in older rooms before and they were fine

Heating - agree with previous reviews it is far too hot - even with our radiator off and window open for 3 days we still had to sleep with no duvet. Again this is clearly aimed at the older generation so we can't complain

In summary - give it a go!

Room Tip: Sea View rooms are nice but very noisy if you need to open the window because of the heat.
