“A good cheap break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Very apprehensive when booking with Blackpool Promotions as I had read about the Novo virus. However, very pleasantly surprised when called by BP to tell us about the virus and the steps taken to deal with it.
On arrival greeted warmly and booked in quickly. Cases could be taken to room by porter if required.
Sea view room large and clean, although table could do with a deep clean. En-suite much larger than usual Blackpool hotel en-suites. Power shower great but you need to go for a high pressure to get it hot.
Radiators don't cool down but still pleasant because of outside tempretures.
Room given a very basic clean daily but not an issue. Tea, coffee etc replenished daily.
Dining room well organised and sanitizer promptly displayed and used by everyone.
Limited choice for dinner but enough choice to satisfy. Portions good and standard of food excellent. Dining room staff very attentive.
Entertainment of a high quality. Bar staff pleasant and tables cleared of empty glasses and rubbish very quickly.
Hotel going through a refurbishment at the moment but no inconvenience.
Overall a very pleasant enjoyable stay. Will definitely be back

I stayed in this hotel as part of a coach tour with Blackpool promotions - 3 nights DBB including return travel for £99. Regardless of whether you wanted the food and entertainment I still think this is the cheapest way to visit Blackpool for a long weekend. Also, I went with a friend (we're in our late 20s) and this trip was clearly not designed for our demographic but we still had a great time. If you're thinking of visiting Blackpool, don't be put off by the stigma surrounding coach tours - it's a great cheap way to visit.

Food - clearly designed for the older generation but it was fine

Service - very helpful and friendly - bring your own iron if you want to iron anything after 5pm

Entertainment - only saw 1 act but they were great and the drink prices are reasonable
Rooms - ask for a refurbished room as they are lovely though we've stayed in older rooms before and they were fine

Heating - agree with previous reviews it is far too hot - even with our radiator off and window open for 3 days we still had to sleep with no duvet. Again this is clearly aimed at the older generation so we can't complain

In summary - give it a go!

Room Tip: Sea View rooms are nice but very noisy if you need to open the window because of the heat.

Arrived at hotel was told our room was down opposite the dining room,we sat waiting to be given a key which was clearly not for the room we were told we then found out we were in the new extension,Rooms dated, went for dinner food very sparing,Not once in the weekend did we have room service or a change of towels, there was a pair of knickers sticking out from under bed which we left there.Friday night people were going down like dead fly with noro virus, saturday was even worse, dissappointing to find there was no management on duty to deal with this,as guests were left to their own devices, one guest had approached reception as her hubby had caught it and was told that there was no such thing spreading in hotel. For future management should be trained to deal with such, hotel should have been closed off and enviromental health brought in.Entertainment very poor, sunday night karaoke the singers were better than steve the compare.what could have been a good weekend was a disaster.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for you taking the time to leave a review of your stay with us.

I do remember you arriving at the hotel, there was a slight misunderstanding with the room that you had asked for which was quickly dealt with at the time.

With reference to your comments regarding cleanliness of your bedroom, rooms are serviced on a daily basis. I have no record of a complaint with regards to your room not being serviced throughout your stay. There are members of staff available 24 hours a day should you be unhappy at all during your stay, who will be only too happy to help.

It is very rare that we receive complaints regarding our entertainment, infact we having nothing but praise as you will see from previous posts.

As you are aware we had a number of guests who unfortunately contracted the winter vomiting bug whilst you were here. We were in contact with Environmental Health, who visited the hotel at our request and were more than happy that we were doing everything physically possible to prevent the virus from spreading further. Management are and were fully trained to deal with the situation at the time, staff and guests were at all times kept fully informed.

It is always a shame to receive such a bad review after a guest has left without making us aware of a problem, as this gives us no opportunity to deal with the issue.

Just returned from a 5day four nights break at the Royal Seabank and had a great time. Food was very good with excellent service at all times, staff went out of their way to ensure everything went well during our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment excellent considering the time of year and just all round great value for money hotel. Thankyou to all staff for a really relaxing time!

I travelled to the Seabank on 8th Feb with two 14 YO lads.

The room was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The beds were good with lovely pillows and there were nice clean fluffy white towels.

The food was a bit basic but adequate, there was plenty of it.

The entertainment was excellent and prices in the bar surprisingly low.

All the staff we met were great, very friendly and obliging and all very hard working.

Prior to our visit there had been an outbreak of norovirus and I picked it up whilst in Blackpool.
Although this was not fault of the hotel they treated us royally. We were put up for an extra night til I was able to to travel, the two boys were fed and looked after and then a private mini bus took us the 270 miles right to my door FOR FREE. They even gave us a packed lunch for the journey. We look forward to going back because we enjoyed it, but it's great to know that when things go wrong they'll pull all the stops to put it right.
