Just got back from a weekend stay at the Seabank hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Travelled with family including young kids and elderly grandparents.
We were lucky enough to have one of the few rooms which looks out onto the sea and the view was breathtaking. Room was nice and spacious, the restaurant staff were lovely and the food was great. As much as we had a fantastic stay, we did have a few grumbles, none of which took away from the fab time that we had:

*The hotel classes itself as having wheelchair access which is not fully correct. It's fine for people who can take a few stairs but it isn't completely wheelchair friendly. My gran has a mobility scooter. It was fine for her but she had to park her scooter in the front reception beside the door and it regularly gets very busy there so getting in and out was an issue.

*The lift only takes two people at a time and is very slow so a queue tends to form regularly. Again, if you're not fully mobile, you can be waiting upto ten minutes just to get upstairs at busy times.

*Our room (although with lovely views) was directly above the cabaret bar. So getting to sleep anytime before 1am was a definite no-no which was difficult with young kids.

*The blonde girl on reception was very sour-faced. You have to hand in your keys each time you venture outside the hotel. And each time we asked for them back, we were greeted with a large sigh and a dirty look.

*Check in was a total shambles. We arrived at 1pm after travelling for 6 hours and had queue for 20 minutes with our bags but the reception area isn't large enough to deal with large queues so you are pretty much squeezed up against a wall. Then to be told our room wouldn't be ready until 2 pm :(

*One of the barman (the english, slightly balding one) in the snackbar area asked me for proof of age 4 times, each time I bought a drink (I'm 26). I didn't mind being asked, but 4 times in one weekend is a bit extreme. He made it clear that he recognised us from the previous times, but insisted on taking my ID anyway, as though I'd gotten younger overnight?

*The cabaret, we found, was very dated and aimed completely towards the elderly. They would benefit from having some entertainment available for the kids, even if just for an hour at the beginning. Or by playing a few modern songs throughout the night as almost all of the musics was from the 60s and 70s. My 6 year old nephew wanted to have a go on the karaoke and the host agreed but then never gave him a shot, even after 3 reminders so we eventually left and went elsewhere.

*The roof panels in our room were all full of holes (the hotel is very dated and needs a refurb but this didn't bother us). The holes in the roof panels though, meant we had a bit of an issue with spiders crawling over our beds.....eeeeek!

*We travelled down on the Blackpool Promotions bus - the rep was a miserable-faced twit. We were the last people to board the bus back home (but still 20 minutes early) and he had a bit of an attitude as though we'd held everyone up. He also insisted on venturing up and down the bus throughout the journey to make sure the person in the centre of the back row was wearing their seatbelt and then he'd hover around for five minutes or so making everyone feel uneasy, he was quite creepy actually.

*And finally, the road outside the hotel is VERY busy and if you're turning left outside and venturing up towards the pleasure beach, you need to be very careful at there are no traffic lights at the first road you come to and cars come FLYING around the corner from all directions. We saw several people almost getting knocked down.

Anyway, don't be put off by all the bad things. Consider these tips, not warnings. I would definately want to stay here again if I went back to Blackpool. Overall the hotel was fab and just what we were looking for and the beds were almost the comfiest I've slept in :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view, but on the left side of the hotel (away from the cabaret)

Had a good time at this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, from the cleaning lady, Janet, to reception, dining room and bar staff. Food good, entertainment good, luggage taken to our door on arrival and taken from the door at the end of our stay. Will definitely be back.

Excellent hotel , staf very helpfull food was splendid couldnt fault the hotel in any way, went with Blackpool promotions and only had the problem of their own bus service absolutley diabolical late didnt pick up should be 1/2 hr wait but waited 2 hours in rain at fleetwood. if they eventually get this right it may work but you have to go where and when they say , only pick up and drop of at hotels , or Fleetwood and St annes.
