On arrival we were greeted by Dave who is very friendly and made us feel very welcome, after a 6 hour drive to blackpool he knew our needs and offered us a drink straight away. The hotel was clean and having the bench outside was fab as it was a very hot day.

We stayed in Room 1 which was very clean and spacious, the en-suite was bigger than i imagined aswell. The breakfast was a full english and was spot on, saved us money as we didnt need to have lunch.

We were there for 3 nights and we wished we didnt have to go home. Dave & Michelle are very friendly.

We will be staying again when we visit blackpool next. The one thing that i liked aswell is that they hotel is only welcome to families or couples so no stag/hen parties, this was great as you weren't being woken up in the early hours of the morning by people just getting in from town.

Stayed at Birch Villa Blackpool last weekend for 2 nights, good value for money. Dave and Michelle made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Room was adequate for our needs, comfy bed, shower en-suite, hospitality tray in room, flat screen T.V. stayed in room 1 which was on the first floor, I don't think I could have climbed any more steps!!. Very clean throughout. In the reception area, tea and coffee were available all through the day and evening time (just help yourself as many times as you like). Full english breakfast was delicious and well presented, once again the dining room was very clean and tidy. All in all a very pleasant stay felt very comfortable and at ease. Hosts were there all the time in the background yet whenever help was needed they were there right away - "No problem," as Dave would say.

We stayed at the Birch Villa and would recommend it to anyone. David and Michelle are great hosts who made us all feel very welcome. The Birch Villa is spotless and very homely. The children even came down to breakfast in their pyjamas as they felt so at home. There were nine of us in our party ranging from great grandparents, to aunts and uncles. The location is perfect as you just walk to the end of the street and you are on the promenade between the central pier and the south pier. The breakfasts were huge and set you up for the day. We will definately be going back to the Birch Villa so brace yourselves again David and Michelle and thanks for a great weekend.

A perfectly adequate hotel but must admit after the reviews I was expecting slightly better then I got. I have no complaints with the room we had, it was spotlessly clean & tidy, although the shower was a hot/cold trickle. Breakfast was fine.
My main criticism would be that the smoking laws are completely ignored at this hotel, which if your a smoker is no doubt not a problem but if your a non-smoker or have breathing difficulties then its completely awful. When we arrived we walked through the only entrance (straight into the bar area) and into a cloud of cigarette smoke with the family who own the hotel sitting in front of over-flowing ashtrays at the bar tables. If we hadn't have paid in advance we would have left but as it was only for 1 night we decided to stay but I wouldn't go again. Also parking is a nightmare, practically non-existent.

Just returned from a Monday to Friday stay at the Birch Villa Hotel with my mum & 2 sons. It was absolutely fabulous!

David is a great host, fab cook and brilliant entertainer!

He goes out of his way to ensure your stay is as great as possible.

It was spotless and centrally located.

We will certainly be returing again next year!! Top marks from us in Glasgow!!!

Hotel was spotless and the owner, David was very welcoming.
The room was £20 each per night for Bed & Breakfast and the room was very clean (you could smell the fabric softener off the towels, which made it very homely).
The room had the usual tea/coffee facilites, alarm clock, TV with Freeview (which didn't have a meter!).
The breakfast was delicious....help yourself to fresh orange juice and any cereals. You get a piping hot pot of tea or coffee and freshly made breakfast.
I would defo recommend this hotel and would defo stay here again!!
