Dining options: Dinner, Late Night, Reservations
Description: "Blackpool’s only Greek taverna for more than 25 years, Fylde institution Giggi’s has now become The Med, encompassing cuisine from throughout the sun drenched region. Close to Blackpool’s favourite attractions – the Winter Gardens, Grand Theatre and the Blackpool Tower complex – The Med is hugely popular with tourists looking for a taste of sunshine even on the coastal resort’s darkest days. The welcoming interior has a classic edge, painted in neutral tones, tables dressed in white while the atmosphere is always lively, especially on the restaurant’s special party nights. The menu, expanded to include cuisine from beyond Greek borders, features an extensive journey from kebabs to pasta right through to continental grills. However always popular is the twelve course Greek meze feast. "

Very disappointing meal. We love Greek food and normally go to Go Greek, which is fantastic ...but as it's closed on a Sunday, we decided to try The Med. Never again! The food was atrocious. Decided to go for the Greek Meze, normally £13.95 but only £9.95 because we were there before 6.30pm. (Had the place to ourselves!) Portion sizes were tiny - felt more like a meal for The Borrowers! Little more than an egg cupful of each of the 3 dips! The Greek salad was full of shredded iceberg lettuce, a few tiny cubes of feta and no olives! The fried items were clearly re-fried from the previous evening - dark brown and overcooked! Other items were definitely microwaved - a couple of 'pings' too many for that moussaka!! The waitress was lovely and very attentive but OMG those grubby fingers and dirty fingernails are very off-putting for diners. We won't be going back again - very disappointed indeed with the overall quality. Perhaps we've been spoilt by the excellent quality of food produced at Go Greek. The Med needs to smarten up its act.

This easily overlooked restaurant is worth seeking out. There is just a door at street level and then stairs to the restaurant. But once inside the welcome is warm and friendly. The food was wonderful. We had a full Greek Meze which with a prior to the meal and a half carafe of house wine came to £34.00. The meal was the best we have had outside of Greece and there is no way I could have eaten any more! Great night out.

We visited The Med tonight after it was recommended to us by our hotel The Trafford ( top rated by us also). We were visitors to the area for the weekend (football).

We had 2 courses and found the food and service to be excellent. We had 'Dips' followed by Moussaka and Tavos which were delicious.

The staff were friendly and fun and the cost was great value. We were well looked after and wished we had room for desert which no doubt would have been wonderful.

You MUST try this restaurant!
