Once my husband got over not having a tv or internet connection we really enjoyed our break. The cottage was well maintained and nice and clean with plenty of kitchen utensils etc. Chris rang to check everything was ok and decked the lounge area out with birthday banners and flowers.
met by Chris the owner who was both friendly and helpful, we were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary and Chris (who we had never met till this stay} was busy decorating the apartment with bunting to wish us well, how nice and thoughtful of her it really made us feel special. we are frequent visitors to the lakes and have stayed in all kinds of accommodation of all shapes and sizes but for a escape pad for 2 this takes some beating.
Both central and quiet with a lake view and clean as a whistle what more could you ask. we will be returning for sure.

Our visit began with such a warm welcome, that we should have known, at that moment, what our stay would be like.
The lodge is beautiful, with the most incredible views of Lake Windermere, which looks especially enticing at dusk, great for amateur photographers! The lodge itself was spotlessly clean and full of character. Unusually for most holiday rentals, it has a large kitchen with everything you could possibly want or need during your stay, from kitchen roll to biscuits. This sets the theme for the whole lodge, our 'bags of bits' such as cleaning products etc, stayed in the boot of the car and came home with us.
We were lucky enough to be greeted by Christine, who put the kettle on, informed us of places of interest near to us and even left us milk and elderflower water in the fridge, a lovely touch.
The weather was kind and, over the course of the week, we took in the view from the private jetty, visited Bowness, (very busy and touristy, not quite our thing), strolled around Windermere's galleries, Lakeland and Booths, for some lovely deli treats and excellent wine, we had a lovely meal at The Lamplighter and walked, a lot.
The break was incredibly relaxing: beautiful views, picturesque walks, good food and drink and more relaxation and sleep than we have had for many a year. This, combined with flawless customer service, made for the perfect break, not that I would expect anything less after our previous visits to Christine's property in Stratford upon Avon.
Thanks Christine, we can't wait for our next visit.

What a truly amazing treat! My daughter and I are nearing the end of 6 nights here and we struck lucky with the weather for the first three days with the most amazing views across Windermere from the Windows or sitting on the bench outside! The end of a row of quiet cottages set on a hill with views to die for! It is modern and well-heated ( on those cooker days!) Quaint in some ways yet modern, clean and cosy - just the perfect retreat for us both! The walk to the jetty was well worth it and on the sunny evenings rewarded us with warmth and sun setting with 180degree views across the lake and mountains! Even after a rainy day the view was moody and dramatic! Perfectly placed in Windermere village it gives quick access to the northern and western lakes while being a few minutes drive from Bowness and the MANY (too many for a week!) activities, walks, views,lakes.....to the south! The friendliest hostess for whom no detail is too much! Thank you - we will definitely be back!
The Cottage was great , the views from the front door of Lake Windermere was superb.
Chris &James who we rented the Lady of the Lake from were great hosts, they left us tea bags, biscuits, all the essentials for washing up and notes on what things were for and the best places to see. We had a great few days there and I wish it could have been longer.
I hope that other people who stay there have the same brilliant time that we had.

Came here to celebrate my other half's birthday. We were both well impressed with the cottage and the view from the living room window. Close by to Windemere centre. Owners were really helpful and gave us lots of advice before we got there and during our time there. Absolutely loved it & would love to stay again in the future :-)
