We stayed 3 nights at the end of our Dalesway walk. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Nothing was too much trouble for Steve and Vicky who really went out of their way to make our stay as fulfilling as possible. Thornbarrow Road is just of the main Lake Road between Windermere and Bowness and is nice and quiet but within a few minutes walk of the restaurants in Bowness. We arrived on the weekend of the Great North Swim and Vicky phoned immediately to secure us a dinner booking for that evening, which was an excellent choice. Our room at the front of the house overlooked lovely gardens across the road. The room was beautifully decorated, comfy bed, spotless, and with a large ensuite and fluffy towels. Each day we had homemade cake in the room. Lovely breakfasts cooked to order. The dining room was intimate and friendly. We chatted to swimmers taking part in the Swim. Steve and Vicky are doing a great job and we look forward to another visit.

Spent two nights staying in the Garden room and from the minute we arrived until the minute we left Steve and Vicky made us feel welcome. The room is lovely, well maintained and nothing was too much! We had everything needed to make the stay as comfortable as possible with a little extra in the shape of homemade cakes and jams! Breakfast is served in the conservatory and was really spoilt for choice, its was brilliant! Will definitely stay again and highly recommend a visit!

Room Tip: garden room was excellent!

I have just spent 3 days with a friend at the Invergarry Guest House and could not have been made more welcome. Steve and Victoria went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our time there. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was very private, and was lovely to have our own garden and patio and conservatory where our breakfast was delivered to us each morning. The homemade cake left by Victoria each morning was very scrummy, as was her homemade jam and marmalade. I could not fault this guest house one bit and will definitely return for another visit. Don’t look any further for accommodation just contact Invergarry and I promise you you won’t disappointed. Many thanks Steve and Victoria and look after little spooks the pussy cat till we see him again.

Room Tip: Garden Suite all the time, very private, with its own garden

I spent 2 very comfortable nights at Invergarry and I agree with the positive reviews here that Steve and Vicky have done a great job in welcoming their guests. Steve offered to collect us at the Windermere Station as long as we could text him while we were on the train and he was punctual.
We were given 2 double bedrooms on second floor and Steve was kind enough to help us take the heavy luggage up. Both rooms were quiet and clean. We did have a good sleep on both nights. The breakfast menu had a variety of choices and Vicky was a super cook,I would say. The couple chatted with all the guests in the dining room. Some may think that they just put on a show and aren't sincere enough. But to me, they need not do this because the guests are there already. They just want to be friendly and sociable. There's nothing wrong at all.
The homemade ginger cake and the small packs of cookies was a little bonus to our stay definitely.
If I were to visit the Lake District again, Invergarry would be my first choice.
For those who have not visited Windermere/ Bowness before, I would suggest planning to visit the place in June/ July. Beautiful weather!

Thank you for such a wonderful review. We really enjoyed having your family to stay with us. We were happy to collect you from the station; we try to make every aspect of our guests stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. You were lucky to enjoy such nice weather while you here and we have been lucky all summer this year, long may it last! The ginger cake is popular and we are glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your kind words they really do mean the world to us. Take care & best wishes to you & your family. Steve & Vicky

We recently spent three nights at Invergarry Guest House having stayed there on a previous occasion. We rarely re-visit holiday accommodation as we like to try different places. We made an exception in this case and we were not disappointed. As previously Victoria and Steve were very welcoming and friendly. The house has a lovely atmosphere, and it is immaculately kept. There is always yummy home made cake on the tea making tray which is a bonus after a long walk. The breakfast menu is fairly extensive and beautifully prepared. We will be definitely breaking our rule again and returning to Invergarry Guest House

Regardless of the splendour of the surroundings, and the places to visit, one must really have an anchor to make the holiday mdemorable. In our case it was the hotel, or rather, the Invergarry Guest House in Windermere. From the moment of arrival we were treated as very special guests indeed. We stayed in the Garden Room. A very private place with a small atrium where we were served breakfast each morning. We had home made jam; homemade cake, and, it seemed the unrivalled attention, when required, of the owners, Victoria and Steve. A splendid visit. We will go again!

Room Tip: Ask for the Garden Room.
