Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a stay at the hideaway, what a lovely b&b, to be honest its more of a hotel feel but in a quaint house. Lovely old building but very modern and homely. Our room was fantastic (number 10) comfy bed, power shower and absolutely spotlessly clean. The breakfast choice was vast, lots of cereals, fruit salad, full english (which was cooked to perfection, not too much and not in the least bit greasy). The hideaway is also in a perfect location to windermere, we didnt get in our car once during our stay because everything u need is within walking distance. We didnt want to come home and will DEFO be returning!!!!

We booked this as a last minute get away for my birthday. Normally, we would go for hotels (as I like a swim/spa), but based on excellent trip advisor ratings (and trying to save some cash) we opted for two nights in the Hideaway. And we also had the option of using a nearby hotels spa, so this was covered in any case!
When we booked, we asked if they could recommend some restaurants nearby - Lisa emailed to give me a list of places to go, which was very helpful.
Up on arrival, we were greeted by Lisa - who wished me happy birthday! (you wouldnt get that in large hotels, would you!?) - and then told us she had upgraded our room - which was lovely.
The room - room 7- was large and had a lovely window seat. The bathroom was nice, and the shower was powerful (looked brand new) and nice and hot! The room furnishings were of a high standard - lots of lamps and a small couch, made the room homely, but stylish at the same time. There were other lovely touches also - I have never seen so many different teas and coffees in a hotel room - they offered everything you could want, bottles of water, and the bathrobes hanging in the wardrobe were also great (when you compare these touches with 'luxury hotels', these would be things included in suites/upgraded rooms.)
The lounge and dining areas were decorated to a high standard, with comfortable sofas and chairs. We really enjoyed our tea and homemade cake each afternoon - gorgeous - and the lounge was such a nice place to relax whilst eating it.
Breakfast was fabulous - and in my opinion, much better than 4* hotels - as the breakfast was made to order, and presented beautifully. Considering we paid £60 per night for the both of us, we could not have got better value for money.
Would I recommend the Hideaway - DEFINATELY. And we will be back.

Room Tip: I think all rooms will be lovely - although I read on the website that some had not been refurbished...

A big thank you to everyone at the Hideaway - you really have a great team there Lisa and Richard
We have just returned from a weekend break to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and what a great time we had.
Superb friendly welcome, super comfy room no. 10, breakfast and afternoon tea brilliant - would recommend the Hideaway to anyone visiting the lakes.Nicely located for a gentle 20 minute stroll down to the lake but also tucked away from the main roads help make it a great place to get away to.
Hope to visit again - many thanks steven & lisa .

Room Tip: super comfy room 10 is so quiet and tucked away in the eaves. Excellent nights sleep, a lovely bathr...

We stayed here Mid Feb for 3 nights & had an amazing stay. The Hideaway had everything we wanted for a well deserved short break away. The room, location, staff, food (breakfast & afternoon tea!) & service were fantastic & the added bonus of being able to use a nearby hotels leisure facilities was just what we needed after a days walking! We stayed in Room 10 which was beautifully furnished & very quiet & the fact that breakfast was served at very sociable hours meant that we could even have a lie in!! We would definatley return as Lisa & her staff made us feel very welcome & the hotel itself was beautiful & very relaxed. Thank you!

Room Tip: Room 10 on 2nd Floor, beautiful & very quiet.

My husband decided to wisk me away on a much needed 'us' weekend. I was so excited when I realised it was the very place were we had got engaged 5 years previous - The Hideaway. How wonderful to discover that this hotel was as we had left it - in fact possibly even better. We stayed in room 12 - a room that has every comfort you require when you need to re-charge your batteries. Felt thoroughly spoilt by the surroundings, excellent food (plenty of it ) and attentive, friendly staff. Definately won't leave it that long to come back again!!
