wonderful few days, perfect weather, obliging and welcoming staff, excellent food, ideal garden room for my wife who suffers from Fibromialga, able to access her mobility ferrari with ease. The grounds are superb especialy in June.
Will visit again, well worth the long journey from the West Country.

Room Tip: No lift, so if you are slightly infirm choose a garden room, they are fine.

We got married at The Cragwood almost 15 years ago and have been looking for an excuse to have another party there ever since. In summary, Phil and his team pulled it off again. They are wonderful: friendly, attentive and nothing is ever too much trouble. The guests enjoyed the warm, relaxed atmosphere, along with the lovely food, which is some of the best I've ever had, (and we are regular 5* hotel travellers). Everything ran smoothly - we didn't have to think about a single thing, it was all taken care of. Phil helped me to plan the day and then I just turned up! I have now had 2 of my happiest ever memories at The Cragwood.

This is by far the best we have stayed at for the following reasons; Fantastic friendly staff as soon as you walk in and obviously this puts you at ease and makes you feel very welcome. The informal atmosphere. The rooms are now very good after refurb and the beds of the best quality. The food very good and also good service.

Went to this hotel the weekend, it was booked by friends, for there 40th bday, stopped in a few hotels around here, normally 4-5 star, but must say, hotel clean, staff great and friendly, service ,the same, food was great, looked after our friends as if they were family, and us, room was spacious, clean, one of the best beds I've slept in,and then to wake up to a hearty, hot, freshly cooked breakfast, there was more than enough an so so tasty, with a choice of anything you could really want for breakfast, so I'm sorry 4/5 star hotels in the area, won't be calling at your hotel in the future, will be staying here at the cragwood

Room Tip: Room 20 for family, nice quiet and peacefull

Quiet and peaceful location with breathtaking views of the extremely well maintained green area and the Lake itself. Rooms might appear as little bit outdated, but they also have a lot of charm and as many mentioned they are spotlessly clean. I was only disappointed with the food. I was really counting on local fresh produce, but instead I got well overpriced meal and drink. However a breakfast buffet selection deserves good remark. Overall: place definitely worth a stay, very good value for money if you exclude food.

We got a last minute booking for the great north swim. From making the booking over the telephone to checking out I cannot fault the service and friendliness of the staff.
We were made to feel very welcome and shown round the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was a high standard with a good choice of fruit and cereals along with a lovely, made to order, cooked breakfast.
Would highly recommend and we will certainly be coming back!

The hotel couldn't have been more accommodating, looked after us all perfectly and were flexible around our timings. Thanks for that bit of luxury during extreme activities, an escape from all the noise outside with the event.
