We stayed here from the 12th -14th february in room 8.
The hotel is situated just off the main road so easy to find, spacious car park within the entrance.

The staff were friendly and always smiling, room 8 was lovely, nice sized bed, lovely patio door with a view to the garden. Really nice view.
Bathroom was great, shower was nice, towels were nice soft and fluffy.
The only disappointing thing about the room was the TV its far too small one of the smallest ive ever seen in a hotel or B&B.
We had to stop in the room most of the day due to the horrendous weather so we decided to try and watch the TV but unless you sit on the edge of the bed you have trouble seeing it properly.
They should really invest in larger TV's!
Breakfast was lovely! Couldnt fault it except for when i asked for the platter i told the waiter i didnt like fried bread or the tomato, he didnt offere alternatives so i had a pretty small breakfast. What was there was lovely.
Overall our stay was fine and apart from the tv and the breakfast alternatives we have no major complaints. Would definately stay here again. Lee & Jill

We recently stayed at the hotel for the weekend. On arrival the gentleman at the desk seemed a bit stand offish, however he was of the following day so this may have been an off day.
The room is nice, possibly the smallest tv ive seen in a hotel for a long time! Complimentary biscuits and tea etc were great.
The bathrooms are lovely with great towels but the shower was quite poor really, not powerful at all.
Breakfast whilst nice is only served between 8:30-9:30, I think the times should be extended as it wouldnt suit people on business or anyone wanting a relaxing lie in of a weekend.
The hotel is fine,I wouldn't pay the full price but if you could get a deal, then its not too bad.

What more could we want, the friendliness of the reception, waiting, bar staff excellent. Large comfortable room and nice warm bathroom with spa bath and large shower cubicle, fluffy towels and excellent toiletries. Very good breakfast. We had dinner on both nights, excellent menu and as we were on a KGB deal, free bottle of wine. Any downside breakfast slightly late for us, so we had to rush, possibly a little update on downstairs decorating but this is just being picky, Jackie and John

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet room.

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff but nothing much more to stay. Dinner offer was a fixed 3 course for £30. I just wanted a main course ant the accommodated this at £17.95. Breakfast starts at 8.30 which is too late for me as I was there on business and needed an 8pm breakfast at the latest. Free WiFi was good. Parking was fine.

Booked a 2night KGB deal and stayed here on 2nd and 3rd feb.Very friendly staff, room comfy especially the superking bed, room and hotel area very warm.Good choice at brekky.Worth every penny of what we paid £99 for the 2 nights.Rang a taxi into Ambleside, its only 2miles,cost £8 there and £10 back but we had a good night so That made up for the rip off price I suppose. The hotel is a little tired in places and with a small refurb would really perk the place up.The threadbare carpet really needs sorting. We would stay here again but not at the full rate price. The gardens are beautiful.

Room Tip: We had room 3 on the ground floor, which has a patio area, ok room but the housekeepers store room i...

My wife and I have just returned from three days spent at this hotel and from the cheery welcome from receptionist Karen to the comfortable and well appointed bedroom, this is a must for a visit. The breakfast room served by cheery staff headed by Margaret was a welcome start to the day. Dinner was prepared by a truly professional chef and presentation was excellent. Bedroom was well appointed with a powerful shower and, most unusual, extra large bath towels. We would hope to be back as this was excellent value with the hotel set in lovely grounds.

Room Tip: We were in room 2 with great view of the grounds.

I called into the hotel with my husband and grand daughter to check out a booking I have with them later in the year, and asked if they were doing lunches that day, as they were busy getting ready for a wedding fair the next day. Soup and sandwiches were offered, which we all enjoyed and couldn't believe the price -- excellent value for money.
I would high recommend this hotel to all
